Set in Manchester in 1984, it stars Brian Cox as legendary manager, Sir Matt Busby, who comes out of retirement to coach a team of young working class boys captained by the talented but unruly Georgie Gallagher (played by Jack Smith). The film also stars Natascha McElhone as Erica Gallagher, Anne Reid as Jean Busby and Toby Stephens as Georgie's prospective headmaster.
Believe was released theatrically in the United Kingdom on 25 July 2014.
Synopsis
In 1984 Salford, Georgie Gallagher lives with his widowed mother Erica (Natascha McElhone). His passion for football is challenged by Erica’s desire to have Georgie attend the prestigious, rugby-playing Lancashire Grammar School For Boys, run by the strict and scholarly Dr Farquar (Toby Stephens). Georgie is up for scholarship at the prestigious school pending on his passing of the entrance exam.Actors

Robert Duvall plays the club coach, Gordon McLeod. Jackie McQuillan (Ally McCoist) is the team's striker who has recently been signed from Arsenal. McQuillan is a legendary ex-Celtic (ironic given McCoist's iconic stature at Rangers) player as well as the coach's son-in-law, and has a reputation for being troublesome. The two men put their personal problems aside as they try to prevent the small fishing town of Kilnockie from losing its club, which is owned by an American (played by Michael Keaton) who wants to move the team to Dublin in Ireland.

Former Irish pugilist & Provisional IRA member Danny Flynn (Daniel Day-Lewis) returns home to Belfast from a 14-year stint in prison at the age of 32. In the Mediterranean Sea, Italian fishermen rescue an unconscious American man (Matt Damon) floating adrift with two gunshot wounds in his back. The boat's skipper finds a tiny laser projector surgically implanted under the man's skin at the hip. When activated, it displays the number of a safe deposit box in Zürich. When he regains consciousness, the man discovers he has dissociative (or psychogenic) amnesia. It is soon revealed the amnesia is selective, as the man realizes he knows several languages and advanced combat skills. Much later he remembers fragments of the C.I.A. trauma-based programming which erased and replaced his identity. When the ship docks, he sets off to investigate the deposit box.

New York City Police Department Lieutenant Nick Chen (Chow) is head of the Asian Gang Unit. The film tells the story of Jim Morris, the son of a career Navy man, who moves the family to a small Texas town.
