Der Gross méchant loup (Blitz Wolf) est un court-métrage d'animation américain produit par Fred Quimby, directeur de la branche animation de la Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, parodiant Adolf Hitler. Il fut réalisé par Tex Avery. Il fut nommé dans la catégorie Oscar du meilleur court-métrage d'animation.
Synopsis
Ce dessin animé est une parodie de l'histoire bien connue des Trois Petits Cochons, produit dans le ton de la propagande anti-nazis de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Dans ce dessin animé, les cochons partent en guerre contre Adolf le Loup (sous les traits d’Adolf Hitler), qui menace d'envahir Cochonland (Pigmania dans la version américaine). Les deux cochons qui construisent leurs maisons en paille et en bois déclarent qu'ils n'ont pas besoin de prendre des précautions contre le loup puisqu'ils ont signé un Pacte de non-agression avec lui. Le cochon qui construit sa maison en pierre, le Sergent Pur Porc (Sergeant Pork dans la version américaine) prend ses précautions et renforce sa maison avec un puissant dispositif de défense composé de barbelés, de bunkers, d'obusiers et de tranchées.Actors

A wolf escapes from Swing Swing Prison (a parody of Sing Sing Prison). Many bloodhounds are freed to search for him, but one of them, Droopy, remains behind and informs the audience that he is the hero of the story. He quickly finds the wolf who tries to escape from Droopy throughout the picture. However, everywhere he flees Droopy pops up. In the end Droopy crushes the wolf by dropping a huge rock on his head. When Droopy receives his reward, he jumps about in complete enthusiasm, only to pause and inform the audience, "I'm happy".

This starts off as an adaptation of Robert W. Service's poem in spoof of The Shooting of Dan McGrew, complete with a literal depiction of a man with one foot in the grave, but when Dan McGoo turns out to be Droopy, it turns into another Droopy-versus-the Wolf/Wolf-goes-ape-for-the-girl gagfest.

In this western-themed cartoon, the Big Bad Wolf, now playing a cowboy criminal called "Joe" Wolf in this cartoon, kidnaps the cowgirl singer, Red (played by Red Hot from Red Hot Riding Hood) from Rig-R-Mortis saloon, where their motto is "Come in and get stiff." Droopy and a posse of cowboys doggedly follow him all over the Great Plains (mainly Droopy), but the wolf is far ahead. However, like in the previous cartoons, Droopy shows up in the places the wolf doesn't expect, forcing him to call for the waiter to keep Droopy away from him.

Le film s'amorce sur la version champêtre bien connue du Petit Chaperon rouge où l'héroïne, une jeune campagnarde maigrichonne aux grands pieds, explique au public sa mission d'aller porter de la nourriture à sa mère-grand, malade et alitée, qui vit sur une ferme. L'attention se déplace alors sur la ferme en question où un loup apparaît, coiffé d'un bonnet et déjà installé dans le lit de mère-grand. Il avoue tout de go au public qu'il ne veut pas manger le Petit Chaperon rouge, mais souhaite l'embrasser, car il en est follement amoureux.

Ejecté d'un train dont il était le passager clandestin, Spike arrive dans un camp de scouts. Une compétition doit justement opposer deux d'entre eux. Droopy est l'un des deux. Le vainqueur aura droit à se rendre à la Maison Blanche et à y rencontrer le Président. Spike prend la place de l'adversaire de Droopy et affronte ce dernier dans une succession d'épreuves.

When a circus arrives to town, it features it's famous attractions including "The Great Barko and His Famous Acrobatic Dogs". And under the commertial posters an advertisement stands, titled "Dare Devil Dog Wanted", advertising a job for Barko's new dog-acrobats, under the condition "Must be Fearless!". This attracts both Droopy and Spike's attention to apply for the job. Satisfied with the reply from the two dogs, Barko decides to put the situation on the competitive basis: "The one that gives me the best performance in strength and daring, gets the job!", to which the dogs agree. During every tryouts - "see Simpson the Strong Man" test of strength, ringing the bell, "Pop the Balloons" shooting, "See a Woman Sawed in Half", "The Flying Human" flight test with a propeller on the head, riding a car through a sollid brick wall, "The Sharp Shooter", juggling, riding on a motorcycle through a ring of fire, flying on the trapeze, tightrope-walking, figure skating and "The Human Bullet" shoothing out of the cannon - Spike tries to overbest Droopy and sabotage his performances, to which he fails every time and gets himself injured a couple of times. During Droopy's final act, Spike tryes to sabotage the other again, by burning his foot with a matchstick. But this leads Droopy to perform faster, leaving the audience to applaud and gives him a minor burnt on the foot. Impressed with Droopy's successful performances, Barko hires him to be one of his Acrobatic Dogs. Outraged, Spike tries to cut the pole and timber it on both Droopy and Barko, but instead - it lands on Spike, leaving him the loser.

Chargé de veiller sur la demeure de son maître en l'absence de celui-ci et du domestique, Jeeves, Droopy fait appel a son frère jumeau, Drippy qui est un costaud.
