Add to a movie listBoruto: Naruto the Movie is the eleventh Naruto film based on the manga by Masashi Kishimoto and directed by Hiroyuki Yamashita in his directorial debut. It is part of the larger Start of a New Era Project (新時代開幕プロジェクト, Shinjidai Kaimaku Purojekuto) to commemorate the series' 15th anniversary.
The film, first teased in the post-credits scene of the previous film, The Last: Naruto the Movie, tells stories about the children of the original series' main characters. As with the previous film and Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie, Kishimoto was once again involved in the project as scenario writer and character designer, and is part of the official canon of the Naruto manga, set after the events of the series.
The film was released on August 7, 2015, to commercial success, and became the highest-grossing film in the series.
Synopsis
Many years after the events of the main series, Naruto Uzumaki is the Seventh Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village, which in this time of peace has grown to become a large city with all of the latest advancements in technology. Naruto is married to Hinata Hyuga and they have two children, Boruto and Himawari Uzumaki. Boruto is a Genin in a team under Konohamaru Sarutobi the third Hokage's grandson, with Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno's daughter Sarada Uchiha, and a mysterious boy called Mitsuki. Boruto is upset that Naruto focuses more on his Hokage duties than their family. Sarada, who dreams of becoming Hokage, scolds Boruto for not taking his training seriously. Because they are childhood friends and rivals, Boruto feels the need to look good in front of Sarada.Actors

Naruto Uzumaki and his Hidden Leaf peers track and drive off members of the Akatsuki who should no longer be alive. While his friends are praised by their families, Naruto wallows in loneliness before he is taken by Sakura Haruno to the park to hear her complain about her parents. However, Naruto revealed to have been tagged by the Akatsuki, the two are ambushed by Tobi as he uses the Limited Tsukuyomi (限定月読, Gentei Tsukuyomi) to transport them into an alternate reality based on their inner thoughts. Being called Menma (メンマ), Naruto and Sakura are surprised to find their friends acting the exact opposite of their usual selves along with a flirty Sasuke who never left the village. While Sakura learns that her parents are dead with her father as the reality's Fourth Hokage, Naruto sees his parents, Minato and Kushina, alive and well. Shortly after, Naruto and Sakura participate in a mission to retrieve a Red Moon scroll which details on how to defeat a mysterious masked ninja. During the mission, Kushina is injured when she protects Naruto and dissuades the youth's refusal to bond with his parents.

The film opens with Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno watching a film starring Yukie Fujikaze, in a local cinema. Kakashi Hatake has summoned them to watch it as preparation for their next mission: to prevent Yukie, who plays Princess Gale in the films, from being captured during production of her latest film. Yukie is later revealed to be Koyuki Kazahana, a princess from an island known as the Land of Snow. Doto Kazahana, who is revealed to be Koyuki's uncle, was responsible for the murder of her father Sosetsu in a coup d'etat. During the shooting of the film, Doto's henchmen, wearing Chakra armor, attempt to capture the princess, but Team 7 manages to delay the princess from being captured. Doto eventually captures Koyuki and kills her bodyguards, who reveal themselves in an attempt to protect and restore her rightful place as the ruler of the Land of Snow. Naruto enters the ship to rescue the princess, only to be captured and forced to wear a chakra-draining device. Doto forces Koyuki to hand over a crystal necklace her father had given her when she was young, thinking that this is a key that can unlock the hidden treasure Sosetsu had left behind before detaining both Koyuki and Naruto.

A recap of Ichigo Kurosaki's battle against Ulquiorra in Hueco Mundo, transforms into an incredibly powerful and uncontrollable Hollow. During the battle, Ichigo's two sisters, Karin and Yuzu are attacked by Shuren, the leader of the Sinners. Ichigo manages to return in time to attack Shuren, but is unable to defeat him. Kokutō, a Sinner not allied with Shuren, rescues Karin, but Shuren manages to depart with Yuzu. Kokutō offers to assist Ichigo by showing him the route into Hell, and Rukia, Renji and Uryū Ishida decide to join the quest.

Assigning on a mission to capture a missing-nin named Mukade, Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, Yamato and Sai wield chakra-knives, which are uniquely designed trench knives that allow a ninja to infuse their chakra with it to produce an added effect. They head for the once glorious historic ruins of Rouran, a city with one thousand towers in the middle of the desert. They pursue and corner Mukade, whose goal is revealed to travel to the past and take over the Five Great Shinobi Countries with the power of the Ryūmyaku (the Ley Line in official English translation), an ancient chakra flow deep underground Rouran. He unleashes the power of the Ryūmyaku, which is sealed by Minato Namikaze (who was well known as Konoha's yellow flash), causing the light to engulf Naruto and Yamato, before Sai and Sakura rides on an ink bird and attempt to escape.

Naruto Uzumaki is arrested to the criminal containment facility known as Hoozuki Jou (鬼灯城, lit. "Physalis Castle") in the Hidden Grass Village, after he is declared responsible for attacking the Fourth Raikage and the members of Jōnin from the Hidden Mist and Rock Village. There, Mui (無為), the head of the prison, places the Tenrou o Tsukau (天牢を使う, lit. "Sky Prison Control") seal on Naruto which limits his chakra. On the first night, Naruto uses a clone as a decoy to escape from prison, but his clone is secretly taken by Mui to have the Nine-tailed beast's chakra extracted which leads him to the real Naruto, and he is shortly recaptured and placed in solitary confinement, before delaying Mui's plans.
