Add to a movie listCount Dracula (German: Nachts, wenn Dracula erwacht / At Night When Dracula Awakes) released in Italy as Il conte Dracula, in Spain as El Conde Drácula and in France as Les Nuits de Dracula, is a 1969 Spanish-Italian-German horror film (released in 1970), directed by Jesús Franco and starring Christopher Lee, Herbert Lom and Klaus Kinski. It was based on the novel Dracula by Bram Stoker.
Although Count Dracula stars Christopher Lee in the title role, it is not a Hammer production like his other Dracula films, being produced instead by Harry Alan Towers. Klaus Kinski, who would play Dracula himself nine years later in Nosferatu the Vampyre, is also featured in the film as Renfield. Count Dracula was advertised as the most faithful adaptation of Bram Stoker's novel. Among other details, it was the first film version of the novel in which Dracula begins as an old man and becomes younger as he feeds upon fresh blood.

On a remote island, beautiful bloodsucker Countess Nadine Carody (Soledad Miranda) lures unwary victims with her seductive nightclub act and sets her sights on Linda (Ewa Strömberg). Linda begins having dreams about Nadine, and seeks her home on an island. She is interrupted by Memmet (Jesus Franco) who warns her not to go to the island. Linda follows Memmet to his chamber where she walks in on him torturing a young woman. She escapes this encounter and proceeds to the island. On the Island, Linda meets Nadine. The two go swimming and Nadine notes that the home they are staying at used to belong to Count Dracula. After Linda begins to feel dizzy from drinking wine, Nadine takes her to a room where the two have sex and Nadine draws blood from Linda's neck. Linda later finds Nadine motionless in a swimming pool and faints.

Une jeune fille, Luisa, rend visite à sa grand-mère mourante, la baronne Karlstein, dans sa demeure. Plusieurs jeunes femmes sont incarcérées à El Castillo de la Muerte, une prison pour femmes au milieu de l'océan. Cette prison n'est pas tout à fait habituelle car elle est tenue par la directrice Thelma Diaz, une directrice sadique qui, avec le gouverneur de la région, le dénommé Santos, abusent sexuellement des prisonnières, particulièrement de l'une d'entre elles, le numéro 99, Marie. Mais un événement inattendu vient bouleverser la prison : l'État vient de nommer un nouveau ministre de la justice qui ouvre une enquête sur les décès suspects à la prison. Il décide d'envoyer sur place une jeune inspectrice, Leonie, chargée de lui faire un rapport ; celle-ci bouleverse la vie de la prison par sa gentillesse et son humanité envers les prisonnières dont Mary. Cette dernière a été jetée au cachot lorsqu'elle a voulu avertir les gardiens de la mort de l'une d'entre elles, Nathalie, décédée d'une péritonite suite à son mauvais traitement. Diaz et le gouverneur décident alors tendre un piège à Leonie... Pendant ce temps, Mary, libérée par Leonie, s'évade avec une autre captive, Rosalie, et l'amant de cette dernière. Mais ils sont aussitôt traqués dans la jungle hostile.
