Creepshow 2 is a 1987 American live-action/animated horror comedy anthology film directed by Michael Gornick and the sequel to Creepshow. Gornick was George A. Romero's cinematographer on the original Creepshow. The screenplay was written by Romero, the director of the original film. It was once again based upon stories by Stephen King, featuring three more "Jolting Tales of Horror": Old Chief Wooden Head, The Raft, and The Hitchhiker.

Creepshow 2 was followed by an unofficial sequel in 2006—which had no involvement from Stephen King or George Romero—titled Creepshow III. Creepshow make-up artist and Creepshow 2 actor, Tom Savini, stated that he considers Tales from the Darkside: The Movie (1990) the real Creepshow 3.

The cover of the special edition DVD released by Anchor Bay Entertainment in both the United States and United Kingdom is an homage to the Tales from the Crypt comic books from EC. This film originally had five tales scripted, like the first Creepshow, but two stories, titled "Pinfall" and "Cat from Hell", were scrapped due to budgetary reasons. "Cat from Hell" was, however, filmed for Tales from the Darkside: The Movie.

Synopsis

A delivery truck pulls up to a newsstand in a small town where a young boy named Billy (named after and confused with the boy from Creepshow) arrives eagerly waiting for it. The truck's back shutter opens to reveal a sinister figure who drops off a package onto the sidewalk — the latest issue of Creepshow, much to Billy's delight. As the film momentarily turns into an animation, the package opens of its own accord, (revealing the cover of the comic is the same as the cover in the final scene of the previous film). As Billy begins to read, the delivery man reveals his true identity as the Creepshow Creep.

The USS Tiger Shark is a U.S. Navy submarine on patrol in the Atlantic Ocean during World War II in August 1943. She receives orders to pick up survivors spotted adrift by a British PBY Catalina patrol plane. She retrieves three survivors – the British nurse Claire Paige (Olivia Williams) and two men, one of them wounded – from the British hospital ship Fort James, which had been sunk two days earlier; one of the survivors blames the sinking on a German U-boat that he briefly saw on the surface just before the Fort James suffered a torpedo hit. As they pick up the survivors, the crew of the Tiger Shark spots a German warship bearing down on them. The submarine has several encounters with the German warship and suffers damage from depth charges in the process. Later, the commanding officer of the Tiger Shark, Lieutenant Brice (Bruce Greenwood), discovers that the wounded survivor is actually a German prisoner-of-war, Bernard Schillings (Jonathan Hartman). Brice confronts him because he thinks Schillings has been making noises to betray the Tiger Shark‍ 's position to the German warship. Brice shoots Schillings dead when the German panics and grabs a scalpel to defend himself.

At the behest of two attractive co-eds, the Uninvited is ironically offered lodging aboard the luxury yacht of a duplicitous arbitrageur ("Wall Street" Walter Graham), en route to the Cayman Islands to escape criminal prosecution by the SEC. Ensuing challenges to the Uninvited's viability result in widespread carnage.

The film begins with Kennedy's character talking to his daughter inside their cabin. Suddenly a Bigfoot-like animal breaks in and takes away the girl. Some teenage campers arrive and they too eventually meet the Bigfoot, with many of them being killed or captured. It is later discovered that one of the campers came there to find his uncle. His uncle is later found to be the Bigfoot, and that a bigoted Catholic priest used him for his own evil plans. Actually, the priest thinks an alien who arrived from an unknown planet 100 years ago is an angel who is here to be served by him. After unearthing such alien conspiracy and a horde of mindless zombies, the hidden spacecraft is destroyed inside the cave they used to hide it.
