The film's screenplay was co-written by Ajay Monga, Bhandarkar and Anuraadha Tewari, and principal photography occurred in Mumbai and Chandigarh. Its music was composed by Salim-Sulaiman and the songs' lyrics were written by Irfan Siddiqui and Sandeep Nath.
The film features Priyanka Chopra in the lead role as Meghna Mathur, an aspiring fashion model; it follows her transformation from small-town girl to supermodel, the Indian fashion industry and the careers of several other models. Fashion also explores feminism and female power in Indian fashion. The film also starred Kangna Ranaut, Mugdha Godse, Arjan Bajwa and Arbaaz Khan in supporting roles. The cast also features several professional fashion models playing themselves.
Development of the film began in 2006. The film's budget was ₹180 million (US$2 7 million); it opened on 29 October 2008 to positive reviews. Critics praised its screenplay, cinematography, music, direction and performances. It collected ₹600 million (US$9 1 million) at the box office and was commercial successful despite being a women-centric film with no male lead. Fashion was nominated for several awards. At the 54th Filmfare Awards, the film received seven nominations including Best Director and won two awards; Best Actress award for Chopra and Best Supporting Actress award for Ranaut. It also won Best Actress award for Chopra and Best Supporting Actress award for Ranaut at the 56th National Film Awards . Several publications listed Fashion as one of the "best women-centric films in Bollywood".
Synopsis
Aspiring model Meghna Mathur (Priyanka Chopra) wants to go to Mumbai and become a supermodel. Against her father's wishes, Meghna leaves her home to find success in the modelling world. Meghna meets an old acquaintance, Rohit (Ashwin Mushran)—a gay, aspiring designer who assists Vinay Khosla (Harsh Chhaya). Meghna experiences difficulties during her early days; she auditions several times and is rejected. Meghna meets and befriends another struggling model, Maanav (Arjan Bajwa).Actors

Madhavi Sharma (Konkona Sen Sharma) arrives in Mumbai and soon lands a journalist job. Her boss Deepak Suri (Boman Irani) gives her the task of reporting celebrity news. She begins her journey in the glitzy and glamorous world of celebrity lifestyle working on Page 3. Her roommate Pearl Sequiera (Sandhya Mridul) is an air hostess and wants to marry for money. Scientist Rohit Mehra lives with his son Krishna "Krrish" Mehra (both played by Hrithik Roshan) in Mumbai. Krishna is married to Priya (Priyanka Chopra) who works as a journalist for Aaj Tak. Rohit works in a research institute for the Indian government and Krishna, while moon lighting as the superhero Krrish, is regularly fired from various day jobs due to lack of attendance. Rohit is researching on a device that will bring life to dead tissues by the use of solar energy. Despite several attempts, he fails to complete the experiment due to the high intensity of sun rays. On a usual day, Krishna loses his job from the security wing of a company when he hears news about an aeroplane whose front tyres are stuck due to some malfunctioning which creates high risk, even if landed, it may explode and so will the passengers inside. Krishna immediately changes himself to Krrish and saves the plane from accident by holding the component to make tyres free to roam.

Robin gives them fake passports and IDs so that they can go wherever they want.
