Add to a movie listFrench Fried Vacation (Les Bronzés) is a cult 1978 French comedy film directed by Patrice Leconte. The film satirizes life at holiday resorts such as Club Med. It is one of many films by the French troupe Le Splendid. Josiane Balasko, Michel Blanc, Marie-Anne Chazel, Gérard Jugnot, Thierry Lhermitte and Christian Clavier wrote and created together the play "Amours, Coquillages et Crustacés", and drew the scenario for Les Bronzés from this café-théâtre piece. The film has achieved cult status in France, where it sold 2.2 million tickets during its initial theatrical release.
It was followed by two sequels, also directed by Patrice Leconte: Les Bronzés font du ski (1979) and Les Bronzés 3: Amis pour la vie (2006)
Synopsis
Gigi, Jerome, Christiane, Jean-Claude, and Bernard visit a resort in the Ivory Coast, the Club Med village of Assinie. Bernard subsequently meets up with his wife, Nathalie, who has already spent a week there, and they are all welcomed by Popeye and the eccentric emcees, Bobo and Bourseault.Actors

Friends of the first part can be found in the ski resort of Val d'Isere where Jerome, Gigi and Popeye work. Jerome and Gigi are now married : Gigi holds a pancake while Jerome exercised in his medical practice. Nathalie and Bernard, reconciled and fairly "new rich" are owners of a time share. Jean-Claude, always in search of a soul mate and still no seduction, desperately trying to dredge anything that moves. Christiane landed with a married man and much older than her, Marius. Popeye is now much less sure of himself: humiliated by his wife cheating on him with his cousin, he claims his friends that he is the manager of a ski shop when it was held by the same couple. During an exit off piste skiing, the group loses before being rescued by mountain peasants, which will make them taste artisan food and drink: first of pussy - a strong cheese soaked in fat , rinds, and wood alcohol for two or three seasons - and the shallot liquor found in garlic juice "because shallot alone, it s'rait too bland" in a parody of the famous scene Tontons gunslingers.

The characters from the first two films get together again, 27 years on, in Sardinia. The obsession with sex has not disappeared but has taken a backwards step in the face of financial preoccupations. Bernard and Nathalie Morin (Gérard Jugnot, Josiane Balasko), are the parents of a son who reveals a homosexual liaison; J.C. Guy (Michel Blanc) travaille comme pompiste dans une station service. Son copain Daniel (Bernard Giraudeau) est déménageur dans une petite entreprise.
