Iceman, formerly known as The Iceman Cometh, is a 2014 Hong Kong-Chinese 3D martial arts action-comedy film directed by Law Wing-cheung and starring Donnie Yen, who also serves as the film's action director. The film is a remake of the 1989 film The Iceman Cometh which was directed by Clarence Fok and starred Yuen Biao, who was earlier reported to join the film. Donnie Yen hand-picked Jam Hsiao for his unique voice and deep emotions to sing the Mandarin theme song. The Cantonese version is sung by Hong Kong singer and actor Julian Cheung. The film was released in Hong Kong and China on April 25, 2014.
The sequel is slated for release in 2015.
Synopsis
Iceman revolves around a Ming Dynasty officer, He Ying (Donnie Yen), who was tasked with bringing a mythical time traveling device back to the Ming emperor. He was betrayed, and subsequently frozen. He Ying, Sao(Wang Baoqiang) and Niehu were frozen during a fight and were defrosted in modern-day Hong Kong where they continue their battle.Actors

Tong Shan (Donnie Yen) is a doctor who returns from Britain to Shanghai after graduating from medical school. Tong opens a clinic in a poor village in Shanghai to help sick people who cannot afford medical care. However, the Axe Gang, led by Yue Lo-chat, arrives and plans to tear apart the village and build a casino there. Tong and his assistant, Bond (Ruco Chan), protect the village and drive the gang away, angering Yue. One day, Tong meets Yue's younger sister, Yue Siu-sin (Athena Chu), who is mute due to an illness. Tong cures Siu-sin and their relationship grows closer, which angers Yue even more since he is against western medicine. Later, some kids are kidnapped and found dead without internal organs. Tong investigates and discovers that his mentor, Lui Mung, and Yue are the masterminds behind this. Lui and Yue frames Tong and Yue starts a persecution on Tong.

In legend, there is a powerful and undefeated warrior known as the Wolf. Continuing from where the first film ended, Wing Chun master Ip Man and his family move to Hong Kong in the early 1950s after their escape from Foshan. In the 1930s, Foshan is a hub of Southern Chinese martial arts, where various schools actively recruit disciples and compete against each other. Although the Wing Chun master Ip Man is the most skilled martial artist in Foshan, he is unassuming and keeps a low profile. Chan Kwok-chung (Simon Yam), a Hong Kong police inspector, has dedicated his career to putting Wong Po (Sammo Hung), a notorious triad boss, behind bars. While escorting a witness with damning evidence of Wong's wrongdoings to court, Chan's car is rammed at high speed by another car driven by Jack (Wu Jing), a ruthless assassin hired by Wong. The impact severely injures the witness and his wife, whom Jack proceeds to kill after getting down from his car. The witness' young daughter, however, is spared. Chan survives too, but has a piece of glass stuck in the back of his head. When the glass is removed, the doctor notices a tumour in Chan's brain and informs him that he does not have long to live. Chan becomes even more determined to bring down Wong Po, using any means necessary.

The film is set in China in 1895 during the Qing dynasty. Wong Fei-hung travels by train from Foshan to Guangzhou to attend a seminar on medicine. He is accompanied by his romantic interest 13th Aunt and apprentice Leung Foon. The situation in Guangzhou is rather chaotic. On one hand, there are protests in the streets against the signing of the Treaty of Shimonoseki. On the other hand, the White Lotus Sect, an extreme xenophobic cult, goes around attacking Westerners and destroying everything regarded as alien to Chinese culture. At one point, 13th Aunt is almost captured by the cult when she tries to take a photo of them, but Wong shows up, fights with the cult members, and saves her.
