Parish stars as the police detective Sharon Myers who moves from a big city back to her small hometown and investigates a murder. It was first broadcast on 7 May 2006 on ITV. The programme was also broadcast in the United States on BBC America on 25 July 2006. Future member of One Direction, Louis Tomlinson makes a blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance as a member of a group of boys who discover a body in a river.

Synopsis
De retour dans son village natal pour une fête réunissant les anciens élèves de sa promotion, l'inspectrice Sharon Myers se trouve au centre d'une enquête criminelle lorsque le corps d'une enseignante est retrouvé dans un lac. Les choses se compliquent lorsque Phil, son ex petit ami et l'époux de sa meilleure amie Helen, est suspecté du meurtre. Pensant qu'il est victime d'une tiers personne, Sharon va cacher des indices à charge contre Phil, mais ses collègue découvrent sa liaison passée avec le suspect...Actors

Matthew Harris is a young, lowly orderly working in a busy hospital in London who dreams of bigger and better job opportunities for himself. One evening, he witnesses a car accident outside a local pub where the driver of a car is killed after colliding head-on with a lorry. Harris learns that the man, named Simon Hennessey, was a doctor at the hospital where he works and had been applying for a residency at another hospital in Bristol. Harris takes the dead man's mail and fills out a job application and applies for the job himself under the late doctor's idenitity. After studdying medical books and getting "hands on" involvement with other patients at his hospital, Harris applies for the job and is accepted. He quits his orderly job and settles in Bristol where he, as Dr. Simon Hennessey, is assigned to a busy emergency room.

The film starts in October 1952 after Alan Turing (Ed Stoppard) has been convicted. He is talking to his psychiatrist, Dr. Franz Greenbaum (Henry Goodman). Dr. Greenbaum and Alan continue to discuss; Alan informs Dr. Greenbaum that he cannot talk about his war time activities. Dr. Greenbaum informs him that he can talk about anything he wants. Sir Dermot Turing, nephew of Alan, is shown and he goes on to explain how life was John Turing (Alan's brother) and Alan Turing during their childhood. David Leavitt appears next and talks about Turing's school time activities. David further explains that Turing was good at mathematics and athletics. His favourite sport was running.
