The film was the last in a trilogy of animated shorts by Pessoa about childhood, following A Noite (1999) and Tragic Story with Happy Ending (2005). Kali the Little Vampire features original music from The Young Gods, and was produced by Abi Feijó (Ciclope Filmes), Julie Roy and René Chénier (National Film Board of Canada), Pascal Le Nôtre (Folimage) and Georges Schwizgebel and Claude Luyet (Studio GDS).
Synopsis
Kali is a young vampire who suffers from not being able to live in the light. Living in the shadows and inspiring fear, he lives envious of other children who don’t even dream that he exists. One day, while once again watching young boys play beside the train tracks, he breaks from his isolation and discovers that because of who—and what—he is, he can make a difference in others’ lives.Actors

After Baron Henry von Frankenstein creates a bride his monster, he decides to make arrangements for a lavish wedding at the Transylvania Astoria Hotel. Many monsters are invited to the wedding including Count Dracula and his son, Ron Chanley the Werewolf, the Mummy, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, the Invisible Man and his family, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon. Once the wedding guests arrive, they terrify guests and staff. Frankenstein's assistant Igor is jealous of the monster and wants the bride for his own. So Igor plots to steal her which doesn't go according to plan when the bride ends up snatched up by a Pterodactyl and lands in the clutches of a giant gorilla named Modzoola.

Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, and Scrappy-Doo are on their way to a Miss Grimwood's Finishing School for Girls, where they have been hired as gym teachers. Once there, however, they find that it is actually a school for girl ghouls. The pupils include Sibella, the daughter of Count Dracula; Elsa Frankenteen, the daughter of Frankenstein's monster, Winnie, the daughter of The Wolfman; Phantasma (usually called Phanty for short), the daughter of a phantom, possibly The Phantom of the Opera; and Tanis, the daughter of The Mummy - all parodies/tributes to the Universal Monsters of the 1930s-40s. Other residents of the school are a floating white hand; an octopus, who is the school's butler; Legs, a spider that helps with the upcoming volleyball match; Miss Grimwood, the headmistress; and her pet dragon Matches (who dislikes Scooby at first, but later becomes friends, and has a strong friendship with Scrappy). Shaggy and Scooby want no part of this at first, but eventually they agree to stay as teachers.

Professor Paris Catalano goes to Venice to investigate the last known appearance of Nosferatu during the Carnival of 1786. Catalano seems to think that the vampire is searching for a means to put an end to his torment and actually be dead. He stays with a family who, legend says, has the vampire trapped in a tomb in the basement. After a séance "the vampire" appears and then it becomes a question of how do you put the evil back into the box.

Every year, all of the classic Hollywood monsters (consisting of Frankenstein's monster, his wife Repulsa, a Mummy, the Witch Sisters, Bone Jangles the Skeleton, Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Snyde, Swamp Thing, and Dragonfly) gather at Count Dracula's castle in Transylvania for the "Monster Road Rally", an ultimate road race similar to Wacky Races, awarding the winner with the "Monster of the Year" award as well as many other prizes only monsters would enjoy (and one prize — a trip to Hawaii — that none of the monsters want). This year, however, Dracula receives a postcard from the Wolfman stating that he has retired to Florida and will not be participating.

Alors que la nuit est tombée, on voit Bugs Bunny creuser une longue galerie afin de rejoindre Pittsburgh. Mais il se trompe de chemin et aboutit devant le château hanté du comte Dracula (en Transylvanie) qu'il prend pour une sorte de grand motel. Devant l'entrée, il demande son chemin à un vautour femelle à deux têtes, qui le trouve « à croquer ». Bugs se fait inviter à l'intérieur. Sans prendre garde aux fantômes et au mobilier effrayant, il recherche un téléphone. Il prend le comte pour un maître d'hôtel. Ce dernier joue le jeu et le guide à travers les étages, où les couloirs et les portes sont en forme de cercueil. Dans les pièces, on voit un piano à mâchoires garnies de dents, une télévision, des portraits de fantômes et de chauve-souris. Il lui présente sa chambre à coucher, lui enjoint de dormir jusqu'au lendemain, dans le but caché de lui aspirer son sang durant la nuit.

The film begins with an introductory song by Tulie, a bayou dweller, who tells the story of Valdronya and the Mystery Inc. Gang. After solving the mystery of a Cockroach Monster that terrorized a factory, Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby decide to take a much needed vacation. Velma drives everyone to Chauve Sourie Ville, a small town in Louisiana which is hosting a vampire festival called "Vampire Palooza." They meet Lita Rutland, the festival organizer, who explains that tourism is down and the festival is losing money. They also meet their host, Vincent Van Helsing, who runs a vampire museum and is an aspiring author, although his books are not selling. Jesper Poubelle, an anti-vampire agitator, is also stirring up trouble by protesting the festival. Van Helsing takes the Gang back to his museum and shows them various jewelry and a glass-faced casket containing the inert body of Valdronya, a centuries-old vampire.

Baron Boris von Frankenstein (voiced by Boris Karloff) achieves his ultimate ambition, the secret of total destruction. Twelve-year-old Goku seeks out Master Roshi to ask to be accepted as a student, while the little monk, Krillin, arrives for the same reason (and uses a porno magazine as a bribe). Roshi sends them on a quest far to the west, where "five mountains stand, called the 'Devil's Hand'." Inside a castle, there lies the legendary, and beautiful, "Sleeping Princess." Whoever brings back the Sleeping Princess will become Master Roshi's student. The two boys set out, and Krillin uses all the standard tricks to trip Goku up.

The film takes place in Australia and Vampire Rock, a rock formation shaped like a vampire head. There is a legend of a vampire named the Yowie Yahoo, who lives in the rock. The film starts at Vampire Rock where the "Vampire Rock Music Festival" is being set up. Many people are excited for it, but some don't think it should take place because it would anger the Yowie Yahoo. One such person is Malcolm Illiwara, even though his own grandson Daniel is the manager of the contest. One night, as Malcolm and his grandson watch a sure-to-win performer named Matt Marvelous, the Yowie Yahoo appears. The Yowie Yahoo and its three vampire minions capture Matt Marvelous and take him away. Everybody is scared, and Malcolm blames the contest for what happened.
