Le Jour des corneilles est un film d'animation issu d'une coproduction entre la France, la Belgique, le Luxembourg et le Canada. Écrit par Amandine Taffin, le scénario est librement inspiré du roman du même nom de Jean-François Beauchemin paru en 2004. La mise en scène est signée Jean-Christophe Dessaint, dont c'est le premier long-métrage. Il est sorti en France le 24 octobre 2012. L'histoire mêle conte et fantasy.
Synopsis
Au cœur d'une grande forêt, le fils Courge grandit en petit sauvage aux côtés de son père, un colosse bourru et tyrannique qui le maintient dans l'ignorance du monde des hommes. Les seuls amis du fils Courge sont des fantômes muets (dont celui de sa mère) ayant pris forme animale, qui communiquent avec lui par signes. Un jour, alors qu'il cherche à soigner son père blessé et inconscient, le jeune garçon s'aventure hors de la forêt, sur les conseils d'un des fantômes, et découvre un village. Il y fait la rencontre de Manon, la fille du docteur qui a accepté de soigner son père. Avec elle, il découvre l'existence d'un sentiment inconnu pour lui : l'amour. Il se lance alors à la recherche de celui de son père. Une fois Courge rétabli, il retourne vivre dans la forêt avec son fils. Ce dernier finit par apprendre ce qui est arrivé : Autrefois, le père Ronce s'opposait à l'amour de sa fille pour Courge. En pourchassant les amants, il est mort dans l'incendie qu'il avait lui-même provoqué. Courge et son amante ont fui dans la forêt où cette dernière est morte en accouchant de son fils. Fou de chagrin, Courge n'a jamais pu aimer l'enfant.Actors

Pessimistic Richard Tyler (Macaulay Culkin) lives life based on statistics and fears everything. His exasperated parents (Ed Begley, Jr. and Mel Harris) have tried multiple ways to build up the courage of their son, but to little success. Richard is sent to buy a bag of nails for building a treehouse. However, Richard gets caught in a harsh thunderstorm and takes shelter in a library. He meets Mr. Dewey (Christopher Lloyd), an eccentric librarian who gives him a library card, despite Richard's protests he doesn't want a book, since he's only there to escape the storm. Searching for a phone, Richard finds a large rotunda painted with famous literary characters. He slips on some water dripping from his coat and falls down, knocking himself out. Richard awakens to find the rotunda art melting, which washes over him and the library, turning them into illustrations.

In a small village in Tuscany, the poor carpenter Geppetto decides to fabricate a wooden puppet with socket because he feels himself alone. The puppet is called Pinocchio, and that magically comes to life and begins to make jokes of all kinds to Geppetto and the villagers. In the early 1900s, a young orphan named Pete flees his abusive adoptive hillbilly family, the Gogans. As Lena Gogan and company pursue him ("The Happiest Home in These Hills"), an unseen force, which Pete calls Elliott, knocks them into a mud pit. The next morning, Pete and Elliott, a green and purple dragon who has the power of invisibility, share breakfast ("I Love You, Too") and visit Passamaquoddy, a village where the unseen Elliott, performing clumsy antics, causes Pete to be labeled a source of ill luck. Lampie, the drunken old lighthouse keeper, stumbles out of a tavern and encounters Pete. A mischievous Elliott makes himself visible, and a terrified Lampie runs into the saloon to warn the townsfolk ("I Saw a Dragon"). In a seaside cave, Pete scolds Elliott for causing trouble. Just as they make up, Lampie's daughter Nora appears, having spotted Pete earlier. She says that due to the ongoing tides from the sea, that it's unsafe for Pete to stay, thus leaving Elliott to remain there. She offers him shelter at the lighthouse, and they talk ("It's Not Easy"). Pete learns the story of Nora's fiancé, Paul, whose ship was reported lost at sea the previous year. Pete promises to ask Elliott about Paul, and Nora accepts, believing Elliott to be an imaginary friend.

The film begins with GloboTech Industries acquiring the Heartland Toy Company. CEO Gil Mars tells remaining toy designers Larry Benson and Irwin Wayfair to develop actual live-action toys capable of "playing back". Mars selects Larry's action figures, the Commando Elite, for the project and Irwin's educational toys, the Gorgonites, for their enemies. After Mars sees a commercial showing the toys doing activities they are incapable of doing, he accuses them of false advertising, saying Globotech delivers on what it promises. Mars then orders Benson to have the toys on the shelves in three months acting just as they do in the commercial or get fired. Faced with such a tight deadline, Benson forgoes safety testing, then uses Irwin's password and chooses GloboTech's overly powerful, X1000 intelligent AI munitions microprocessor integrated circuit to control the toys.
