The film was first broadcast on 23 June 2010 on BBC Four, and received its US premiere on PBS on 21 November 2010 as part of Masterpiece Contemporary, airing the day before the American Masters documentary LennoNYC, which begins where Lennon Naked ended. The film premiered in Australia on 5 December 2010.
Synopsis
In 1964, in the peak of Beatlemania, a reluctant John Lennon (Eccleston) is persuaded by manager Brian Epstein (Rory Kinnear) to meet Freddie Lennon (Christopher Fairbank), the father who abandoned him seventeen years earlier, with the press in attendance. When they meet, John accuses his father of abandoning him, but his father says that "he left it up to John." John and Brian quickly leave the meeting.Actors

On the opening night of Princess Ida at the Savoy Theatre in January 1884, composer Sir Arthur Sullivan (Allan Corduner), who is ill from kidney disease, is barely able to make it to the theatre to conduct. He goes on a holiday to Continental Europe hoping that the rest will improve his health. While he is away, ticket sales and audiences at the Savoy Theatre wilt in the hot summer weather. Producer Richard D'Oyly Carte (Ron Cook) has called on Sullivan and the playwright W. S. Gilbert (Jim Broadbent) to create a new piece for the Savoy, but it is not ready when Ida closes. Until a new piece can be prepared, Carte revives an earlier Gilbert and Sullivan work, The Sorcerer.

The film begins with the Spice Girls performing "Too Much" on Top of the Pops, but they later become dissatisfied with the burdens of it. Meanwhile, sinister newspaper owner Kevin McMaxford (Barry Humphries) is attempting to ruin the girls' reputation for his newspaper's ratings. McMaxford dispatches photographer Damien (Richard O'Brien) to take pictures and tape recordings of the girls. Less threatening but more annoying is documentarian Piers Cuthbertson-Smyth (Alan Cumming), who stalks the girls along with his camera crew, hoping to use them as subjects for his next project. At the same time, the girls' manager, Clifford (Richard E. Grant), is fending off two over-eager Hollywood writers, named Martin Barnfield and Graydon (George Wendt and Mark McKinney), who relentlessly pitch absurd plot ideas for a feature film for the Spice Girls.

The story is about Priya Bakshi (Preity Zinta), the daughter of Gulshan (Anupam Kher) and Rohini Bakshi (Farida Jalal). Priya's parents, brothers and best friend, Ajay (Chandrachur Singh) love and support her. Ajay is secretly in love with her, and wishes to marry her in the future. But as she enters her first year in college, she catches the eye of Rahul (Saif Ali Khan) who quickly becomes attracted to her. She succumbs to his charm but her brothers and parents are unsure about Rahul. His womanizing worries them and they tell her to stay away from him. However, Priya is unable to leave Rahul. She convinces her parents to meet him but when they talk about marriage he backs off and he leaves Priya. Priya is devastated but moves on with her life. She later learns that she is pregnant with Rahul's child. Her parents go back to Rahul to talk about marriage but to their shock he refuses to marry her. Priya is faced with a decision, and she chooses to keep the child. Her decision prompts her father to chuck her out the house. Alone and neglected Priya is devastated. Later; however her parents and brothers find it hard to live without her and they bring her back. But now she has to face the society and overcome the disdain of her neighbors, among others. Society virtually ostracizes her and her family. Upon going back to college she finds out that all of her friends now mock her, and girls prefer to stay away from her due to her bleak character. During all this time Ajay sticks by her like a true savior, and Priya starts falling for him. With his support and with the courage she was nurturing in her womb, she makes people realize that she isn't a fornicator, but a girl who loved someone immensely. She could have gotten rid of the child she holds in her body, but she didn't because her child was a being and not a piece of trash. She says that if only she had gotten married, maybe the scenarios would have been different, maybe her child would have been loved and valued, rather than abused and insulted. With these words, she eventually gains the support of those who had earlier disrespected her. Her friends finally accepted her the way they did before and she was having a back to normal life. At the same time she manages to change Rahul's views as well and he decides to marry her. in a fit of a moment, Ajay and Rahul both propose her. Priya, who had already started feeling for Ajay selects him over Rahul stating a spineless guy like Rahul can never be a reliable husband.

Georgia Nicholson is a 14-year-old school girl who has many stresses in her life. When song-writer Alex Burke (Gig Young) enters the lives of the musical Tuttle family, each of the three daughters falls for him. The family lives in the fictional town of Strafford, Connecticut. Alex's personality is a match for Laurie Tuttle (Doris Day), as both she and Alex are seemingly made for each other. Soon they are engaged, but when a friend of Alex's, Barney Sloan (Frank Sinatra), comes to the Tuttle home to help with some musical arrangements, complications arise. Barney drives into oncoming traffic during a snowstorm with his windshield wipers off. Barney lives, and with a newfound affirmation of life, finally writes the song he had been working on, finding his self-esteem in the arms of Laurie and their new baby.

Kandukondain Kandukondain opens with army commando Major Bala (Mammootty) fighting in a war and losing his left leg in a grenade explosion.
