Pretty Things (French: Les Jolies Choses) is a 2001 French drama film directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner and based on Virginie Despentes's 1998 novel Les Jolies Choses. It won the Prix Michel d'Ornano at the 2001 Deauville American Film Festival.
Synopsis
Paris. Débarquée de province avec la ferme intention de se faire une place au soleil du show-biz, l'aguicheuse Lucie n'hésite pas à user de ses charmes pour arriver à ses fins. Elle se lie bientôt d'amitié avec Nicolas, compositeur. Mais sa voix n'est pas à la hauteur de ses ambitions. Et quand la possibilité d'enregistrer un disque se présente, elle fait appel au talent de chanteuse de sa sœur jumelle, Marie, avec laquelle elle est pourtant en froid depuis longtemps. Un soir, après l'avoir remplacée sur scène, Marie retrouve sa sœur morte, défenestrée. Instinctivement, elle endosse l'identité de la défunte, dont la personnalité était pourtant si éloignée de la sienne…Actors

Tavarès est un flic marseillais magouilleur et hâbleur. Leila (Ashley) and Charli (Mary-Kate) go to Rome for a summer job with four other people. After a few minor accidents, the twins are fired. Both girls are shocked, and so are the other interns. The sisters soon meet Derek Hammond, the owner of the fashion company. He re-hires them and the girls and Jamie stay at Hammond's for a few days. There, Leila meets a bad boy from New York named Ryan (who just so happens to be Derek's nephew). The two soon bond and start to develop feelings for each other while Ryan comes out and tries to kiss her good night. Leila does not respond the same and she pushes him away. It is very clear that she likes him too, but she might have just broken up with her boyfriend back home and was not ready for a new love. The girls soon return to work and do very well. But soon another accident happens and this time it is much more serious. All six interns are fired. Soon after Leila returns with Ryan and the two reveal the plot. They use Charli's designs for the missing clothes. They tell Derek when he returns he already knew about this. They do a photo shoot where Mr. Tortoni comes too he re hires everyone but he is then arrested also the interns and Ryan are very proud of themselves. Jamie and Derek decide to take them all to New York. While Derek and Jamie as well as Charli and Paolo kiss. Ryan tries again with Leila leading to her smiling at him but says she'd rather have a hug. The two hug with huge smiles on their faces, showing that Leila did really like Ryan in that way. The photo shoot is still going on with everyone smiling and laughing.

It's a seemingly idyllic summer in 1935, and identical twins Niles and Holland Perry play around the bucolic family farm. Holland is an amoral mischief maker, though sympathetic Niles is often caught in their shenanigans. Niles carries a Prince Albert tobacco tin with him containing several secret trinkets, including something mysteriously wrapped in blue wax paper, and the Perry family ring, which had been handed down from their grandfather, through their father, to Holland, the older twin. Niles asks Holland to confirm that the ring is now indeed his. "Cripes yes, I gave it to you," is the response. Niles asks Holland to take the ring and the wrapped object back, but Holland insists "I gave them to you, they're yours now." Their obnoxious cousin Russell, whom the boys call "Piggy Lookadoo" behind his back, finds them in the apple cellar below the barn--a place they are not supposed to play--and happens to see the contents of the tobacco tin, including the ring. Russell cryptically states that the ring was supposed to be buried, and promises to "tell on" Niles to his father, Niles' Uncle George. Uncle George padlocks the door to the apple cellar to keep the kids from playing there, but there is another stairway inside the barn, giving them access to the cellar.

Durant les vacances estivales, Jacki et Julian Dewar quittent New York pour s'installer dans un quartier cossu de Londres. Malgré un comportement affectif et protecteur l'un envers l'autre, ils ne sont pas mariés ni même fiancés. Elle rencontre un maquereau, Clive, qui devient son amant au grand désarroi de son frère possessif. Criblé de dettes, Clive emmène Julian dans un bordel où il se fait violer par une bande de prostitués travestis. Pendant ce temps, Clive photographie le viol pour faire du chantage à Julian qui doit lui donner de l'argent en échange des photos compromettantes. Alertée par Denise, la petite amie de Clive, sur ses pratiques perverses, Jacki réconforte son frère et lui propose de tuer Clive. Lors d'un rituel, celui-ci est poignardé par les jumeaux psychopathes. Mais la peluche de Jacki est déchirée lors du meurtre et, affolée, la jumelle s'enfuit sans Julian.

The family of twin sisters Maddie and Abby Parker are placed in the FBI's Witness Protection Program after they witness a robber at the local museum, in which the priceless Kneel Diamond is stolen. Unfortunately, Maddie and Abby have a problem of being blabbermouths; as a result, everywhere the Parkers are sent to live, the girls inadvertently end up revealing their witness status. The gang is led by a crime lord with the rather unfortunate surname of Hatchew ("Bless you!"), who will do anything to get his hands on the diamond, which the thieves slipped into Abby's shoulder-bag during their escape from the crime scene; the gem ultimately ends up being set into her necklace. The family travels everywhere in the United States, from Texas to a prairie town, and eventually has been moved to every geographic location around the world possible, with the single exception of Australia – thus the FBI (who by this time are getting absolutely fed up of having to constantly relocate the Parkers, and all because Maddie and Abby can't keep their mouths shut!) send them to live in Sydney. The girls at first have much trouble, especially fitting in with peers. Two assassins named Mac and Sidney are sent after them after having discovered their location by breaking into the FBI office. Maddie and Abby defeat Mac and Sidney by knocking them out, tying them to surf boards and putting clips in Sidney's hair, painting Mac's toenails and threatening to put bras on them. The twins manage to convince them to change sides; they leave after the girls lure Hatchew to Australia. He comes after them, manages to get the diamond and sets his thug on them. It looks like it's over for them until Mac and Sidney return and defeat the thug, saving the girls. Hatchew nearly gets away on a seaplane, but Maddie and Abby stop him using a boomerang and he is arrested by Katie, an undercover FBI agent posing as a lifeguard. The Parkers are finally able to return home to the United States with half the reward money for capturing the bad guys.

The film portrays the lives of shy conjoined twins Blake and Francis Falls, who take residence in a rundown hotel to hopefully reunite with their estranged birth mother. They find their gateway to the outside world through an eccentric young prostitute named Penny. They agree to attend a Halloween party with Penny and pretend to be wearing a "Siamese Twins" costume. The rest of the movie involves the brothers dealing with Francis's health problems, the changing relationship between the brothers, and Blake's budding relationship with Penny. Ultimately Francis's health deteriorates too far and the twins have to be separated. Francis is too sick to survive and dies, but Blake survives and must begin a life apart from his twin. Penny visits him and the two start a relationship.
