Raining Cats and Frogs (French: La Prophétie des grenouilles, literally "The Prophecy of Frogs") is an award winning French traditional animation children's feature film, released in 2003, directed by Jacques-Rémy Girerd and written by Girerd, Antoine Lanciaux and Iouri Tcherenkov at the animation studio Folimage. It is the first feature produced by Folimage and is distributed internationally by Universal Pictures.
The movie is loosely based on the story of Noah's Ark. It is about a group of frogs who predict an imminent disaster where it will rain for forty days and forty nights. They tell a boy and girl who subsequently help save the animals in a zoo.
The French DVD was released in 2005 with English subtitles.
The US and Canada DVD Raining Cats and Frogs was released in 2008.
Synopsis
Ferdinand Bauer lives with his wife Juliette on a farm on a hill with their adoptive son (actually his grandson), Tom. The film begins when they agree to care of Lili, his other granddaughter, whom they will look after while Lili's parents travel by car and trailer to Africa on a safari. Lili's parents own a zoo, which they also leave in the care of Ferdinand and Juliette.Actors

Le film se déroule à Beaumont-les-Vignes, une commune fictive du sud-est de la France, dans un avenir proche. Deux sœurs, tante Hilda et Dolorès, ont suivi des parcours diamétralement opposés. Hilda, une jeune femme rousse à la silhouette dégingandée, est farouchement écologiste : elle se déplace à bicyclette, se préoccupe constamment de la préservation de l'environnement et a rassemblé un musée végétal où elle conserve toutes sortes de plantes. Dolorès, elle, est devenue la PDG sans scrupules d'une entreprise multinationale de l'agroalimentaire recherchant le profit à court terme. Grâce à la technologie des OGM, qui consiste à modifier génétiquement les plantes, Dolorès a mis au point une nouvelle céréale, baptisée Attilem, une sorte d'artichaut géant doté de tentacules. Ce nouveau produit, capable de pousser avec très peu d'eau et sans engrais, qui devrait lui rapporter des bénéfices astronomiques. Elle affirme même qu'il pourrait résoudre le problème de la faim dans le monde et remplacer le pétrole comme nouvelle source d'énergie. Mais bientôt, les plantes Attilem commencent à pousser trop vite, hors de tout contrôle, et envahissent le monde entier. Dolorès fait alors concevoir un pesticide qu'elle se propose de vendre aux gouvernements pour lutter contre la catastrophe qu'elle a elle-même provoquée. Tante Hilda ne l'entend pas de cette oreille et entreprend de sauver le monde, mais la partie n'est pas gagnée d'avance.

The film is set in Beaumont-les-Vignes, a fictional town in south-eastern France in the near future. Two sisters, Hilda and aunt Dolores, followed diametrically opposite course. Hilda, a young redhead at the lanky silhouette, environmentalist fiercely: it moves a bicycle, is always concerned about the preservation of the environment and gathered a plant museum where she keeps all kinds of plants. Dolores, she became the ruthless CEO of a multinational company in the food seeking profits in the short term. Thanks to the GMO technology that involves genetically modifying plants, Dolores has developed a new cereal called Attilem, a kind of giant artichoke with tentacles. This new product, able to grow with very little water and no fertilizer, which should bring him astronomical profits. She says even he could solve the problem of hunger in the world and replace oil as a new source of energy. But soon the Attilem plants begin to grow too fast, out of control, and invade the world. Dolores is then design a pesticide it proposes to sell to governments to fight against the disaster that it has itself provoked. Aunt Hilda does not hear it that way and began to save the world, but the game is not won.

At a remote construction site in Latin America, an American developer named Jekhide attempts to build a resort, however the site is attacked by a mysterious force, causing several workers to get trapped underground. One of the worker's daughters Mia has a premonition. So after saying a few words of parting at her mother's grave, she sets out on a journey across mountains and jungles to search for her father. In Reef City, an underachieving bluestreak cleaner wrasse named Oscar fantasizes about being rich and famous while making his way to work as a tongue scrubber at the local Whale Wash, a job in which he is following in his father's footsteps. Soon after arriving he is called to the office of his boss, a pufferfish named Sykes, to discuss the fact that he owes "five thousand clams" and has to pay it back by the next day. After explaining this to his angelfish best friend Angie, she offers him a chance to pay back the money by pawning a pink pearl that was a gift from her grandmother. Oscar brings the money to the race track to meet Sykes, but becomes distracted by his dreams of grandeur. Upon hearing that the race is rigged, he places it all on a long-shot bet by the name of "Lucky Day". Such a million dollar bet is noticed nearby by a beautiful lionfish named Lola, who flagrantly seduces an excited Oscar, but Oscar is disappointed when she leaves upon learning that he is a whale washer. Sykes is furious that Oscar bet the money but nonetheless agrees to see how the race turns out. Moments before their betted "horse" crosses the finish line, he trips and falls on the line.

Sammy, a Green sea turtle, hatches on a deserted beach and while trying to climb up a sand slope is caught by a seagull. He manages to escape along with another hatchling sea turtle caught by a seagull named Shelly. Sammy falls onto an old raft and gets carried into the open ocean, losing Shelly. Later he befriends a leatherback hatchling named Ray. The two friends grow up together.
