Stories of Our Lives is a Kenyan film, released in 2014. Created by the members of The Nest Collective, a Nairobi-based arts collective, the film is an anthology of five short films dramatizing true stories of LGBT life in Kenya.

Synopsis

Ask Me Nicely Kate - a rebellious young high school student - encounters Faith, a fellow student in the school corridors. They begin a secret relationship, until the school principal takes action to separate the two by suspending Kate from the school. While away from the school, Kate impulsively has a sexual encounter with a boy in her neighborhood. Upon her return, Kate tells Faith about the encounter with the boy. This annoys Faith, leading to an end of their relationship.

In 1980s Europe, flamboyant and gay 16-year-old Chance Marquis shows up at an international high school in a top hat and tails, immediately attracting the attention of the "queer-hating" resident bully, among others. Through his involvement in the school newspaper, he meets an introverted photographer with a mysterious briefcase, and while practicing tennis, he befriends a catty fashionista, both of whom act as his wingmen in his new high school. He also meets the jock-next-door, with whom he forms a tentative friendship, despite the jock's cacophonous group of friends. The film follows Chance through a year of high school, with its attendant drama, successes, and hijinks—including sneaking into a drag bar, where Chance begins to explore his true self.

In a small village in Lower Bavaria, twenty-year-old mechanic Abram (Martin Sperr) is suspected of being homosexual. He is not the only outsider, as also present are a foreign guest worker and the maidservant Hannelore (Angela Winkler), who is defamed as a whore by the villagers. When Abram knifes Hannelore the situation escalates and the hysterical villagers try to hunt Abram down.

Marie Deschamps, une jeune cégepienne de 20 ans interrompt sa session collégiale pour aller apprendre l'anglais dans l'ouest canadien. Son père ne coopère pas à sa décision et la menace de ne plus vouloir la revoir. Marie, décidée, partira tout de même. Sa copine de voyage l'abandonne dès le départ mais Marie décide de partir seule. Elle traverse le pays sur le pouce pour se rendre jusqu'à Whistler en Colombie-Britannique où elle s'établira. Les premiers jours seront difficiles, elle se fait voler ses biens et la saison touristique n'est pas commencée, ce qui fait qu'elle ne trouve pas d'emploi immédiatement. Elle se liera d'amitié avec un jeune québécois, J-F, qui habite la région depuis 10 ans. Il lui présentera ses colocs et Marie partagera le chalet avec eux. Les choses se placeront pour Marie, elle finira par se trouver un emploi comme femme de chambre dans un hôtel cinq étoiles et son anglais s'améliore. Sa quête de soi l'amène jusqu'à s'interroger sur son orientation sexuelle. Elle hésite à téléphoner à ses parents qui ne lui parlent que de sa sœur Julie. C'est à la suite d'un accident de ski de J-F qu'elle réalise combien elle tient à lui. Ayant skié hors-piste, J-F ne peut toucher les assurances et est contraint de vendre ses biens dont sa voiture, une Westfalia orange. Marie rachète la Westfalia et décide de continuer sa quête jusqu'au Mexique où elle rejoindra J-F.

The film is based on the story of Erzsébet Bathory, a Hungarian countess in the 16th and 17th centuries. Her story takes place in a part of the Kingdom of Hungary that is now Slovakia. In this retelling, the Countess is a healer who conducts medical experiments and rudimentary autopsies in a "hospital" beneath her castle. She forms a relationship with a reputed witch, Darvulia, who saves her from poisoning. The witch promises Erzsebet a son and eternal beauty. In return, Erzsebet must sacrifice both love and her reputation. Darvulia becomes Erzsebet's companion. Meanwhile, maidens in the area have been dying of seemingly unrelated causes, and Erzsebet is seen bathing in a large tub of red liquid as the girls' now-mutilated corpses are buried nearby. Two monks later conclude that the water is not blood but is simply colored red by herbs.

Francis and Marie first meet Nicolas at a dinner party, where they both feign lack of interest in him. Over the next couple of weeks, the three form a close friendship, meeting up regularly and even sleeping together in the same bed. However, it is clear that both Marie and Francis have an interest in Nicolas beyond friendship. Francis is unhappy when Nicolas invites Marie to the theater. Marie is visibly disappointed when she arrives at a Vietnamese restaurant with Nicolas after the play, finds Francis dining with several friends, and watches Nicolas take a seat at the end of the table furthest from her. Francis, left alone in Nicolas' apartment, masturbates while smelling his unlaundered shirt. Both interpret Nicolas' actions as signs of intimacy and affection: Nicolas eats a cherry from Francis' hand; Nicolas tells Marie he loves her and also loves Francis. Their feelings lead to competition for Nicolas' affections, evidenced by their rivalry over the gifts they buy for his birthday.

Alors jeune homme, Frédérick avait été incarcéré en 1941 plus d'un an au camp de Schirmeck en Alsace non pas pour des opinions politiques comme la légende familiale l'affirme depuis 50 ans, mais en application par les autorités françaises des lois de discrimination et de déportation des homosexuels du paragraphe 175 du code pénal allemand. Charles connaissant la réalité, avait dès lors méprisé son père et lui avait enjoint de taire ce secret et de ne pas assister à ses funérailles. Marianne, sa femme qui a toujours connu la vérité, avait accepté cette situation et, malgré tout, avait construit sa famille avec cet homme qu'elle aimait, et qu'elle laissait libre de vivre une vie amoureuse parallèle. Le choc de cette révélation s'abat sur Guillaume et Delphine, la fille de Charles.
