The Eye of Vichy (French: "L'Œil de Vichy") is a 1993 film directed by Claude Chabrol. The documentary is about propaganda produced by Nazi-occupied France during World War II from 1940 to 1944. The film documents the pro-Nazi sentiments of Philippe Pétain's Vichy regime and its efforts to spread propaganda against both the Allied Forces and the Jews. It contains authentic newsreels, advertisements, and feature-film footage produced by the Nazis and their collaborators.

In Nazi occupied France, Jean Blomart sits by a bed in which his lover Hélène lies dying. Through a series of flashbacks, we learn about both characters and their relationship to each other. As a young man filled with guilt about his privileged middle-class life, Jean joins the Communist Party and breaks from his family, determined to make his own way in life. After the death of a friend in a political protest, for which he feels guilty, Jean quits the Party and concentrates on trade union activities. Hélène is a young designer who works in her family's confectionary shop and is dissatisfied with her conventional romance with her fiance Paul. She contrives to meet Jean, and although he initially rejects her, they form a relationship after she has an abortion following a reckless liaison with another man. Jean tells Hélène he loves her even though he believes he does not. He proposes to her and she accepts.

Under the German military administration in occupied France during World War II. Paul Latour is a prisoner of war in Germany and his wife Marie lives hand-to-mouth with their two children in a squalid flat. A neighbour, whose husband is also in Germany, has fallen pregnant and is trying to lose the baby. Marie helps her, successfully. Other women come to her and she starts charging.

A small village in the Jura is split by the river Loue which creates the line of demarcation between Nazi occupied France and freedom. A French officer, Pierre (Ronet), is released by the Nazi soldiers to find his chateau converted into a German command centre. Whilst he is obliged to co-operate with the enemy, his wife Mary (Seberg) supports the resistance movement and is willing to risk her life for it. The Nazis step up their activity against the resistance, insisting that any who attempt to cross the line of demarcation will be shot. When his wife is arrested, Pierre decides to switch his allegiance. The movement is hindered by an informer and another man who pretends to help the resistance fighters but leads them to the Nazis and steals all their possessions.

Night and Fog is a documentary that alternates between past and present and features both black-and-white and color footage. The first part of Night and Fog shows remnants of Auschwitz while the narrator Michel Bouquet describes the rise of Nazi ideology. The film continues with comparisons of the life of the Schutzstaffel to the starving prisoners in the camps. Bouquet then addresses the sadism inflicted upon the doomed inmates, including torture, scientific and medical "experiments", executions, and prostitution. The next section is shown completely in black-and-white, and depicts images of gas chambers and piles of bodies. The final topic of the film depicts the liberation of the country, the discovery of the horror of the camps, and the questioning of who was responsible for them.

Kissinger (publié en France en 2001 chez Saint-Simon), le documentaire d'Eugene Jarecki et Alex Gibney soutient que le lauréat du prix Nobel de la paix doit être tenu pour responsable du maintien des forces américaines au Vietnam après 1968, de l'invasion du Cambodge, du coup d'Etat qui renverse le président chilien Salvador Allende en 1973 et des massacres au Timor-Oriental. Mais pour les deux réalisateurs l'ancien secrétaire d'Etat de Richard Nixon et Gerald Ford n'est pas seulement un politicien cynique prêt à tout pour conquérir puis conserver le pouvoir. Ils affirment que Kissinger est un authentique criminel de guerre. Mais ils se contentent pour cela de clamer la pertinence de l'ouvrage de Christopher Hitchens - le plus souvent avec de longues interventions du journaliste - sans se donner les moyens d'étayer leur thèse.
