It was first released at the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival and at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, distribution rights were secured by Strand Releasing. The film released to a limited number of theaters on November 20, 2009.
Synopsis
John Rosow (Michael Shannon) is an alcoholic private investigator. Suddenly Rosow is given the case of his life when he is hired to tail a man named Harold Fullmer (Frank Wood) on a train. Rosow soon discovers that Fullmer is one of the thousands presumed missing after 9/11, and that the Fullmer has fashioned a new life for himself. As the film progresses, Rosow faces the moral decision to take Fullmer, unwilling, back to his wife in New York, or if he will let Fullmer remain in his fabricated life.Actors

Kelli, returning from her military tour of duty in the Middle East, has high hopes for resuming her old life in her midwestern hometown. The film begins with Detective Havenhurst driving with his partner Detective Vargas. They receive a call and drive to the scene of a murder. As they push their way through the crowd at the crime scene, they see Brad McCullam leaving with a coffee cup. Inside the house, the detectives find the body of Mrs. McCullam, Brad's mother, who has just been stabbed with an antique sword. In 1972, eight-year-old Francis "Frankie" McGuire sees his father gunned down due to his Irish republican sympathies.
