The Night Before Christmas is a 1933 animated short film produced by Walt Disney Productions and released by United Artists. Part of the Silly Symphony series, the film is an adaptation of Clement Clarke Moore's poem A Visit from St. Nicholas, popularly called The Night Before Christmas. The film was directed by Disney animator Wilfred Jackson.
Synopsis

The film begins with a nursery book that opens by itself. Mother Goose appears on the title of the Leo the Lion from the MGM title cards. Underneath the goose is written, in Pig Latin, "Nertz to You". The opening disclaimer states that "any resemblance to characters herein portrayed to persons living or dead, is purely coincidental." Little Bo Peep (Katharine Hepburn) claims she "lost her sheep, really I have". After performing a few ballet steps she looks behind the next page of the book, which is turned around.

Mickey Mouse appears as a street performer playing Adeste Fideles on a cello while Pluto howls along. Several passers-by appear to throw coins in Mickey's collection cup and Mickey wishes them a merry Christmas. But when Mickey goes to buy food, he discovers his cup is full of nails, nuts, and bolts. Mickey walks away disgusted.

Mickey se prépare à diriger l'orchestre de l'opéra, mais doit d'abord faire sortir Pluto de la scène. En coulisses, le chien percute une malle de magicien et éparpille les affaires dont le chapeau magique. Des lapins et des colombes s'en échappent alors dans la poussière magique, un lapin se retrouve dessous et l'emmène partout, suivi par Pluto. Côté scène, l'opéra débute. C'est une représentation de Roméo et Juliette. On retrouve dans l'orchestre, Clarabelle à la flûte. Les chanteurs vedettes sont Clara Cluck et Donald. Mais tout en poursuivant le chapeau magique, Pluto débouche sur la scène devant l'orchestre, ce qui énerve de plus en plus Mickey, mais aussi les musiciens. Au bout d'un moment, le chapeau tombe dans un tuba. Les animaux qu'il contient s'en échappent et commencent à envahir et à perturber la scène, provoquant un grand désordre.

Mickey fait un voyage en Arabie avec Minnie. Il arrive sur un chameau dans un souk. Ils font les touristes. Minnie prend plusieurs photos mais un habitant malhonnête décide de l'enlever et de s'enfuir à cheval. Mickey tente de le poursuivre mais son chameau a entre-temps décidé de se rafraîchir en buvant de la bière. Le ravisseur est un cheik qui voulait ajouter Minnie à son harem. Mickey entre dans la demeure du cheik. Après avoir éloigné Minnie des mains du cheik, sa garde empêche les deux souris de sortir. Mickey se retrouve face au cheik armé de deux pistolets qui, aveuglé par son turban, tire n'importe où même sur ses soldats armés de cimeterres. Ces derniers se réfugient dans des vases et des amphores de tous genres. Après avoir épuisé ses munitions et recouvré la vue, le cheik se met au lancer de couteaux qu'il a en grande quantité. Mickey parvient à lui renvoyer ceux enfichés dans un paravent derrière lequel il était caché et à s'enfuir dehors avec Minnie, cachée dans une jarre. Ils montent ensuite dans un minaret. Poursuivis par le cheik, ils courent sur les toits. La fuite n'est pas encore achevée car il faut redescendre. Mickey et Minnie tombent du haut du toit mais se rattrapent à un store. Le cheik n'a pas cette chance car Mickey a enroulé le store. De même les piques lancées du toit par les gardes arrivent sur le cheik. Mickey et Minnie peuvent alors s'enfuir sur le dos du chameau.

In 1806, Pittsburgh farmer Johnny Appleseed watches as pioneers depart out west and wishes he could follow. Johnny is inspired by an angel to abandon his farm, go west, and plant apple seeds everywhere he goes. The angel tells Johnny that he has all that he needs to go out West: a bag of seeds to plant, a Bible, and a pot that he can use for a hat. In his travels, Johnny befriends a skunk, and thereafter, all animals instinctively trust him. In the end, after walking hundreds of miles and planting apple trees all along the way, Johnny finally rests for the last time under a tree; his angel appears before him, and tells Johnny that it's time to go. Johnny gets up, scared at first upon realizing he's dead, but refuses to go to his final resting place, believing that his work is not done yet. However, the angel tells him that, where they're headed, they're low on apple trees, so Johnny picks up his seed bag and happily agrees to go with him.

On Christmas morning, 1909, in a quaint Midwestern town, Jim Dear gives his wife Darling an American cocker spaniel puppy which she names Lady. Lady enjoys a happy life with the couple and two local neighborhood dogs, Jock, a Scottish terrier, and Trusty, a bloodhound. Meanwhile, across town, a stray mutt named Tramp lives on his own, dining on scraps from Tony's restaurant and protecting his friends from the local dogcatcher. One day, Lady is saddened after her owners begin treating her rather coldly. Jock and Trusty visit her and determine that their change in behavior is due to Darling expecting a baby. While Jock and Trusty try to explain what a baby is, Tramp interrupts the conversation and offers his own thoughts on the matter, making Jock and Trusty take an immediate dislike to the stray and order him out of the yard. As Tramp leaves, he reminds Lady that "when the baby moves in, the dog moves out.
