Synopsis
Quatre amies originaires de Delhi, Kalindi (Kareena Kapoor) qui est sur le point d'épouser son petit-copain, Rishab (Sumeet Vyas) de longue date malgré sa phobie de l'engagement, la très accomplie, Avni (Sonam Kapoor), qui souhaite désespérément se marier et enchaîne les rendez-vous amoureux et autres rencontres arrangées, Sakshi (Swara Bhaskar) dont le mariage rencontre des difficultés et Meera (Shikha Talsania) jeune maman qui s'est mariée sans le consentement de sa famille, se réunissent à l'occasion du mariage de Kalindi .Actors

In Sultanpur, a picturesque village in Pakistan, villagers have gathered to watch a game of cricket between India and Pakistan on television. Among them is a pregnant woman (Meher Vij) who, after giving birth, names her daughter Shahida after Shahid Afridi, the player who had won the game for Pakistan. On an afternoon, a six-year old Shahida falls off a cliff, but is saved by an overhanging tree. She loses her ability to speak from the accident. Her worried mother takes her to the shrine of Nizamuddin Auliya, a Sufi saint, in Delhi, on the belief that it would regain the latter's speech.

Aisha (Sonam Kapoor) is a girl who believes she is perfectly suited for match-making – amongst her friends in particular. Twenty years ago Angar Chand (Amrish Puri) lived a wealthy lifestyle in a small town in India along with his wife, Parvati, and four sons, Balram (Jackie Shroff), Kishan (Paresh Rawal), Shakti (Arbaaz Khan) and Jai (Akshaye Khanna). Since Balram is of marriageable age, he arranges his marriage with the daughter of Laxmi Devi (Laxmi), who opposes this marriage. During the wedding ceremony, Laxmi Devi and her sons, Surajbhan, and Pratap forcibly take away their sister and accidentally kill Parvati. They subsequently get their sister married to Kashinath (Shakti Kapoor). An enraged Angar hacks Laxmi's husband to death, is arrested and sentenced to 14 years in prison. When he returns he makes it clear that women will not be permitted in his house, posting a sign on the front gate, and forbids his sons to ever marry.
