White Fang is a 1991 American adventure film directed by Randal Kleiser, starring Ethan Hawke, Klaus Maria Brandauer and Seymour Cassel. Based on Jack London's novel White Fang, it tells the story of the friendship between a Yukon gold hunter and a wolfdog.
White Fang is portrayed by a wolfdog, Jed, who also appeared in such films as The Thing (1982) and The Journey of Natty Gann (1985).
A sequel to the film, White Fang 2: Myth of the White Wolf, was released in 1994.
Synopsis
In the late 19th Century, a young explorer named Jack Conroy arrives in Alaska from San Francisco and meets a musher named Skunker and his late father's buddy Alex Larson, a rugged guide who reluctantly agrees to take Jack to his father's claim. While on their journey, they are stalked by a large pack of wolves. While resting at a campfire at nightfall, a female wolf manages to lure one of the sled dogs (Digger) away from the group, another wolf appears and chases the dog into the woods, Skunker uses his ammunition to wound one wolf and gives chase to save his dog, but is killed and devoured by the rest of the pack. Later that night the wolves return but are scared off by Jack and Alex using burning branches. The following morning the wolves attack the two men, but they are saved when another sled team arrives with one of the men fatally shooting a female wolf, her pup (who is half dog) is left to fend for himself. Jack and Alex reach a town where they plan to stay for the winter. A band of Native Americans, meanwhile, find the pup, and the chief names him White Fang.Actors

While Jack Conroy (Ethan Hawke) was in San Francisco, White Fang was living and banding together with his master's friend, Henry Casey (Scott Bairstow). While they were sailing to bring their gold to town, they had been washed up. At the Native Americans tribe, Moses ( Al Harrington) had a dream about White Fang with his daughter Lilly (Charmaine Craig). He said that Lilly will guide them the way to finding the wolf due to this dream. Lilly sailed to the river, and then walked through the forest, when she heard White Fang barking. She ran as fast as she could, and she saw White Fang, but White Fang suddenly disappeared, then she saw Henry appearing, leading her to believe that the wolf (White Fang) had changed into Henry. She rescued Henry from the river and placed him inside her small boat, and traveled back to the starving tribe. Then she introduced Henry to her father, when they got back to Lilly's home. While Moses was telling Henry that he is the wolf, Henry said that he is not the wolf, and that the wolf was his friend, White Fang, and that he himself is a human, leading to a laughter from the crowd. In actuality, White Fang was left at the river,but he got out of the waters and onto land. White Fang then walked through the wilderness in the forest, and saw some wolves. He followed them, saw a pack, but he did not socialize with them.

Young, naive Canadian biologist Tyler (Charles Martin Smith) is assigned by the government to travel to the isolated Canadian arctic wilderness and study why the area's caribou population is declining, believed to be due to wolf-pack attacks; amongst his orders to study them he is also given a gun and required to kill one wolf and examine its stomach contents. Tyler receives a baptism of fire into bush life with a trip by bush plane piloted by Rosie (Brian Dennehy). Set after the events of the first film, Babe (now voiced by Elizabeth Daily) and his master, farmer Arthur Hoggett (James Cromwell), are given a welcome home parade after Babe's success as a "sheepdog". One day, Babe inadvertently causes an accident to befall Arthur, who ends up in the hospital. Esme is unsuccessful tending the farm on her own. A few days later, two men from the bank tell her she and Arthur have not paid their rent on time, and at the end of the month, Esme and Arthur will soon be evicted from their farm. Among the many letters from their fans, Esme locates one saying that if she enters Babe in a sheepdog herding contest, held at a fair far away, she will win a large amount of money. She decides to enter Babe instead, and they leave the farm together.
