The mad scientist named Preston King (Jeffrey Combs) invites the doctors that could not save his son Paul King (Anton Argirov) from kidney cancer before to his uncharted island in the western Pacific. There, Tom Reed (William Forsythe), Paul's widowed wife Amelia Lockhart (Hunter Tylo), who believes Paul died five years ago from cancer, and several meet on the island. There, Dr. King reveals that Paul never died and was saved from death by being injected with hammerhead shark DNA and filling his stem cells. This turned Paul into a half-man, half-shark creature. Dr. King leaves and releases the water from the tank where he was keeping Paul and hopes that he will eat them as revenge for them firing him from his job five years ago. As Paul, now known as Hammerhead, chases after them, they escape along with Hammerhead.

Corporate real estate tycoon Hamilton Lux (Armand Assante) sets his sights on developing the quaint seaside town of Full Moon Bay into a prime getaway for the wealthy, but runs into some unexpected problems. Lifelong fisherman Daniel Wilder (John Schneider) and wife Brooke (Daryl Hannah) own property exactly where Lux wants to build high-priced condos, and isn't planning to sell. Lux secretly laces the local waters with a toxin deadly to marine life, decimating the fishing industry in an attempt to starve Daniel out. Alas, the chemical react differently on the area's sharks, drastically increasing their aggressive tendencies and transforming them into engines of pure destruction moving in coordinated swarms. Without fish to feed on, shark attacks on humans rapidly increase. Lux uses media contacts to paint the attacks as random incidents. Daniel, his marine biologist brother and a concerned E.P.A. agent must expose Lux's plan and rid the area of the chemically-altered sharks before the town's entire population is devoured by hungry sharks.

Open on gorgeous swamplands of the Atchafalaya Basin in the summer. Lots of beautiful teens are at the beach the weekend before Gator Fest. That night an animal smuggling deal goes awry and a large sea creature escapes into a swampy backwoods river. At the McDaniel's "Gator Shack" restaurant, a local, Jackson is drunk, and gets mangled to bits. The town sheriff blames the carnage on the McDaniel's "escaped" pack of gators and tries hauling them off to jail. Rachel McDaniel, head of the family, claims to have seen the fin of a shark! Rachel and her family, along with the help of a mysterious stranger, Charlie, take on the Swamp Shark and the law to clear their names, save Rachel's kid sister Krystal and prevent the unwitting folks at the upcoming Gator Fest from being torn to shreds by a beast the likes of which no one has ever seen!

The film opens with a baby dinoshark swimming away from a broken chunk of Arctic glacier that calved due to global warming. Three years later, the dinoshark is a ferocious predatory adult and kills tourists and locals offshore from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The protagonist, Trace, is the first to notice the creature and witnesses his friend getting eaten, but has trouble convincing people that a creature of such antiquity could still exist. After being apparently killed by a grenade, the dinoshark surfaces again, but is killed with a spear through the eye, its only weak spot.

A freak cyclone hits Los Angeles causing man-eating sharks to be scooped up in water spouts and flood the city with shark-infested seawater. Bar-owner and surfer Fin sets out with his friends, Baz, Nova, and George, to rescue his estranged wife, April, and their teenage daughter, Claudia, after the bar and boardwalk is destroyed in flooding. While heading to April's home, the group stops in a freeway to save people as flooding causes sharks to attack. George is killed and the group learns of a tornado warning. They arrive at April's house just before the first floor is flooded and shark-infested. Collin, April's boyfriend, is eaten by sharks, but the rest of the group escape unharmed.

Due to the great white's new spectral form, it can attack and kill anyone as long as there is even the smallest amount of water nearby, including coming out of a swimming pool, a bathtub, a bucket, a metal pipe, and even a drinking cup, killing many people in several locations.

Disaster strikes as the bikini-clad snow bunnies one-by-one become meals for the shark. The avalanche has cut off the roads trapping all within the Twin Pines Valley. The local sheriff allies with snowboarders to track down the monster.

Fin Shepard and his ex-wife April Wexler are flying to New York City to promote How to Survive a Sharknado and Other Unnatural Disasters, a book April has written about the Los Angeles sharknado. As the plane comes in for a landing through a storm, it is battered by airborne sharks, losing an engine. Sharks enter the plane, killing passengers and crew, including both pilots. While Fin successfully lands the plane, April's hand is bitten off by a shark while she attempts to shoot it with an air marshal's handgun.

On the coast off of a private beach on a tropical island, a huge shark is waiting for his prey. Beautiful young college students Miki and Mai arrive on the island but are unable to find a hotel in which to stay. Both the young women soon find out that something is seriously wrong after they find a hotel and spend some time there happily filming each other, using video cameras offered by the hotel to guests, yet Miki discovers material filmed by a previous occupant. Dream sequences and actual events become intermingled as Miki realizes that a human serial killer on the loose as well as finds herself and her friend attacked by a gigantic, almost whale-sized shark. Despite the movie's titles, the vast majority of the scenes consist of either the girls playing together in bikinis (depicted in a highly sexually suggestive manner, although no nudity is shown) or of them examining materials that's been recorded. Whether or not the killer shark actually exists or is a metaphorical device relating to the human serial killer discovered by Miki in the hotel room recording is left unexplained.

Meanwhile, Dr. Rico Symes is hard at work on his own biological weapon. After harvesting a pterodactyl's DNA, he used the DNA from a barracuda to fill in the gaps, creating a monster that can terrorize land, sea, and air. Things are looking pretty good during the initial test flight until the creature is hijacked by a rogue engineer, looking to sell it the highest bidder. He probably would have gotten away with it if he didn't spill his coffee all over his console, but now the Pteracuda is free to rampage the coast in search of food.

L'histoire se déroule cinq ans après les événements de Sharknado 3. La tempête porteuse de requins tueurs est de retour et la cible des squales est à présent Las Vegas. Après avoir ravagé la ville, le Sharknado se déplace et frappe plusieurs états du centre des États-Unis, sans façade maritime, qui n'ont pas l'habitude des cyclones se formant au-dessus de la mer, mais plutôt des tornades continentales. En se déplaçant et frappant diverses installations (barrage Hoover, champ de pétrole, transformateur électrique, centrale nucléaire), la tornade change de nature en se chargeant de matières de plus en plus dangereuses : poussières, pierres, pétrole, feu, électricité à haute tension, et même radioactivité. Toute la famille Shepard, enfin réunie, va devoir unir ses forces pour en venir à bout.
