Akkineni Nageswara Rao (20 September 1923 – 22 January 2014) was an Indian film actor and producer, known for his work predominantly in Telugu cinema. He starred in various film genres during his 75-year acting career. Akkineni acted in over 255 films, spanning Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages and became one of the most prominent figures in the history of Telugu cinema.

He was the instrumental figure in moving the Telugu Cinema industry from Madras to Hyderabad . He shifted his residence from Madras to Hyderabad and urged his producers to shoot his films in Hyderabad back in 1963. . With an aim to provide infrastructural support to the film industry in Hyderabad, he built a film studio, Annapurna Studios, in 1975. He also started a film and media school, Annapurna International School of Film and Media within Annapurna Studios in 2011.

Nageswara Rao received four state Nandi Awards, and five Filmfare Awards South. He is a recipient of the Dada Saheb Phalke Award, the highest honorary award for achievement in India cinema. He was also honored with the Padma Vibhushan, India's second highest civilian award, for his contribution towards Indian cinema.

Radha Mohan and Krishna Veni are a couple leading a miserable marital life due to several misunderstandings and decide to apply for divorce. They die on 14 February 1983 at 10:20 AM near a clock tower on their way to the lawyer's office. Their son, Nageswara Rao, becomes a rich and influential businessman and happens to come across his parents' lookalikes, Nagarjuna and Priya. After befriending them, Rao decides to re-establish them as a couple but is shocked when Nagarjuna introduces his lover, Prema. Rao manages to dissolve the relationship with the help of his personal adviser, Girish Karnad. Unaware of this, Nagarjuna swears not to fall in love with anyone. At the same clock tower, Rao meets Dr. Anjali and falls in love with her at first sight. He helps her in admitting an injured old man to a nearby hospital and donates his blood. The injured man, Chaitanya, is shocked upon seeing the pair as they resemble his deceased parents, Seetharamudu and Ramalakshmi.

Lord Srirama (Nandamuri Balakrishna) retains his wife Sita (Nayantara) comes back to their kingdom Ayodhya, after killing Ravana. Arjun (Siddharth Narayan) is an NRI who lives with his grandfather (Akkineni Nageswara Rao) and grandmother Padmavathi (Waheeda Rehman). Padmavathi wants Arjun to get married. She also tells Arjun's grandfather but does not take it seriously. Suddenly one morning, Padmavathi dies in her sleep. Arjun's grandfather feels bad that he couldn't fulfill his wife's last wish: to get Arjun married. So he tries to convince Arjun for marriage. Arjun refuses and his grandfather leaves for India, where there are some people who will listen to him and give him respect. Arjun finds out that his grandfather is in India and flies from Germany to India to bring back his grandfather. His grandfather only agrees to come only if Arjun would marry. Arjun, along with the help of his friend Puppy (Sunil), close in on three girls: Shalini (Saloni Aswani), Sravani (Sadha) and Sandhya (Charmme Kaur). Shalini is a tennis player, Sravani is a student who is pursuing MBBS, and Sandhya is women's activist. Incidentally, all three girls happen to be Arjun's childhood friends. Arjun introduced himself as krishna for introducing himself, not like a childhood friend. He started impressing them with his funny and joyful attempts and he succeed to impress three of them and three became very close to him. He was confused to decide whom should he propose in three of them. Arjun decides to randomly draw one of the three names and whoever gets picked, Arjun would try to love that girl.

The film starts with the penance of Sage Bhadra who becomes a hill with the blessings of Lord Rama. In later centuries, Dammakka, the tribal lady and worshiper of Lord Rama unearths and looks after the idols of Rama on the hill and awaits someone who can construct a temple there. On the other hand, Gopanna and his cousin Kamala fall in love and marry after a small conflict with their parents. After the marriage, Tanisha, the emperor of Golconda, with the recommendation of Akkanna and Madanna (the uncles of Gopanna), appoints Gopanna as Tehsildar of Husnabad. Thus, a Muslim who had been the Tehsildar to the place is dethroned for the sake of Gopanna. That ignites disgust among a few groups who attempt to murder Gopanna. However, Dammakka saves him while he lies unconscious on the bank of Godavari. She shows him the place of Bhadragiri and Gopanna becomes an ardent devotee of Rama. After a series of incidents, he decides to construct the Rama Mandir on the hill. He collects funds from people and with the help of Kabirdas, his guru, completes the construction of the temple. Lord Rama, Lakshmana, Seetha and Anjaneya live in invisible forms in the place during the construction. They keep on guarding Gopanna until he accomplishes his mission. Thus, with immense bhakti on Lord Rama, Gopanna becomes Ramadasu.

Story opens with Chiru showingup on multiple TV screens as an announcer. After a clash, he is fired from work, and he joins ANR's garage as a mechanic. Here, he tries every possible trick up his sleeve to tease his boss's daughter(Vijayasanthi) and she too tries the same. After few comic scenes also involving brahmanandam, both fall in love . ANR realizing that chiru is his enemy's son, rejects their love. Chiru manages to persuade ANR to take revenge on his father(Satyanarayana) by acting as his son and entering into satyanarayana's house. Both Chiru and Vijayasanthi confuse everyone there about their relationship, as both enter the house as siblings, but behave as lovers. After few songs and a fight in the climax, everyone unites and thus ends the movie.
