Religious and meek postal service worker John Paul George (Kevin Downes), named after three members of The Beatles, has never met his father, Stephen, (Sean McGowan), because he died somehow during the Vietnam War in 1969. While rummaging through the garage of his recently deceased mother's house, he comes across a box of his father's war belongings and finds a letter mentioning "Eddie J. Adams", (Scott Whyte), his best friend from Vietnam. Curious, John starts calling people in the country with the name, eventually coming across someone who seems to recognize the name. John travels to Mississippi, where he finds that the person he spoke with on the phone was actually Edward's son, Wayne Adams, (David A.R. White), a reclusive, strange and ill-tempered hermit. John tells Wayne that he came to Mississippi to learn more about his father from Wayne. Wayne reveals that he has many letters from his father, most of which detail John's father, who got him to rediscover his cynical, misguided faith. Later that night, Wayne impulsively cuts the roof off his 1965 Ford Thunderbird to "make it a convertible for a road trip". Confused and angered because his wedding to his fiancee Cynthia, (Candace Cameron Bure) is in a matter of weeks, John protests the trip, preferring to just read the letters at Wayne's house. Wayne is insistent, however, that they go on the long and arduous road trip to visit the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. to see their fathers' names on The Wall and get closure. Despite clashing many times over many things, such as Wayne getting into a fight with rowdy gas station patrons and John being forced to pay for the letters if he wants to read them, on the trip they learn more about their fathers and themselves.

In a post-apocalyptic future where the survivors have banded together into ninja clans, representatives of the Lost Ninja Clan – brothers Cage and Surge, deaf-mute Sky, Trillion, and Mar – are called to an underground bunker to attend a peace conference. Each of the ninja clans has a magic power, and the Lost Ninja Clan control electricity. Fumitaka, a respected clan leader, believes that the disparate ninja clans are under threat by an external force. He proposes that they band together in order to increase their chances of survival. Though this is well received by the assembled clans, he is assassinated at the end of his speech. Three witnesses step forward to identify Cage, the leader of the Lost Ninja Clan, as the assassin. Confused and protesting his innocence, Cage leads his clan to safety as they fight through the hostile crowd. Cage uses most of his magical power reserves to temporarily knock most of the other ninja unconscious.

Johnny Dow struggles to make a living at his small town gas station by charging motorists to see the electric guitar used by his late father, who was a one-hit-rock and roll wonder. Legend has it the guitar was carved in the shape of a dragon's head and made in part from an ancient spear his father found in the crater of a shooting star. When Johnny's friend Eddie stumbles upon the other half of the spear he releases an ancient demon hungry for power and destruction. In 1891, Irene Adler delivers a package to Herr Dr. Hoffmanstahl; payment for a letter he was to deliver. Hoffmanstahl opens the package, triggering a hidden bomb that is prevented from detonating by the intervention of Sherlock Holmes. Holmes takes the letter while Adler and Hoffmanstahl escape. Immediately after the events of the previous film, Chev Chelios (Jason Statham) lands in the middle of an intersection after falling out of a helicopter. He is scooped off the street via snow shovel by a group of Chinese medics and removed from the scene. Chev wakes up in a makeshift hospital and sees doctors removing his heart while Johnny Vang (Art Hsu) watches.
