Allison Smith (born December 9, 1969) is an American actress and singer best known for her work on television as Mallory O'Brien in Aaron Sorkin's Emmy Award-winning NBC drama The West Wing, and starring on Broadway in the title role Annie. She also played the role of Jennie Lowell on the 1980s Emmy Award winning sitcom Kate & Allie. She received a Screen Actors Guild win in 2001 for Best Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for "The West Wing". Other theatre credits include the original Broadway production of "Evita" with Patti Lupone and Mandy Patinkin, starring in the Los Angeles premiere production of David Mamet's "Oleanna", "QED" by Peter Parnell at The Mark Taper Forum opposite Alan Alda, and the musical "The Education Of Randy Newman" in which she played Randy Newman's first wife. Her chilling performance in the pilot of "The Closer" received rave reviews.
She has appeared in over 100 episodes of television.
Smith is an actress, writer, singer, and director, and is married with two children.
She works with Save The Children and has helped to build five or more schools in Africa and Haiti.

In the first story, "Nightmare", a businessman discovers his wife cheating on him and plans to shoot the boyfriend and make it look like she did it, then hung herself. But the boyfriend manages to kill him and dumps the body in a nearby lake, but then needs the car keys from the pocket of the body to get rid of a telltale car. The wife has had a number of terrible nightmares that her husband comes back from the dead to get revenge on her and when the door creaks open she blasts the figure behind it only to find she has killed her boyfriend. She is found hanged by the law, but her body is covered in water and you are led to believe that the dead man killed her finally.
