Amala Akkineni (nee Mukherjee) is a former Indian film actress, Bharata Natyam dancer, and an animal welfare activist. She is best known for her works in Tamil cinema, and Telugu cinema. She has also starred in few Malayalam, Kannada, and Bollywood films. She has won two Filmfare Awards South, and a CineMAA Award. Amala is the co-founder of The Blue Cross of Hyderabad, a non-government organisation (NGO) in Hyderabad, India, which works towards the welfare of animals and preservation of animal rights in India.

Biography

Amala is married to Telugu Film actor Akkineni Nagarjuna since 1992 and the couple has a son, actor Akhil. They currently live in Hyderabad. She is the step-mother of actor Naga Chaitanya. In an interview with The Hindu, she cited her greatest fear as not "walking the talk" when it comes to social issues. She also highlighted that her greatest regret is not speaking Telugu well.

Radha Mohan and Krishna Veni are a couple leading a miserable marital life due to several misunderstandings and decide to apply for divorce. They die on 14 February 1983 at 10:20 AM near a clock tower on their way to the lawyer's office. Their son, Nageswara Rao, becomes a rich and influential businessman and happens to come across his parents' lookalikes, Nagarjuna and Priya. After befriending them, Rao decides to re-establish them as a couple but is shocked when Nagarjuna introduces his lover, Prema. Rao manages to dissolve the relationship with the help of his personal adviser, Girish Karnad. Unaware of this, Nagarjuna swears not to fall in love with anyone. At the same clock tower, Rao meets Dr. Anjali and falls in love with her at first sight. He helps her in admitting an injured old man to a nearby hospital and donates his blood. The injured man, Chaitanya, is shocked upon seeing the pair as they resemble his deceased parents, Seetharamudu and Ramalakshmi.

The film is set in Delhi, where a widowed mother, Leela, runs library cafe " Book a Coffee." Here she makes a new friend, a widowed photographer, Jayant 'Jazz', and soon finds their friendship growing. Akkineni Nagarjuna plays the role of a sincere Cop, Vamsi Krishna, who is sent undercover along with two other cops. Of which one cop is a close friend and associate to Vamsi played by Subhalekha Sudhakar, by Police Commissioner played by Giri Babu to track down a vicious and dangerous criminal named Raghuram played by Murali Mohan. Vamsi performs surveillance on Raghuram's daughter Geetha played by Amala, by getting into Geeta's opposite building's flat in a Residential complex, to gather details and whereabouts of her criminal father. Geeta lives with her aunt played by Sukumari. When Vamsi in guise of a telephone department inspector, pursues her and falls in love with Geetha, she reciprocates Vamsi's love interest initially but refuses him after she gets to know the truth that he's a Cop and is about to drag her father to prison. The rest of the story is about how Vamsi gets hold of Raghuram through Raghuram's daughter Geetha and what facts he learns about the crime operation of the real Criminal played by Sharat Saxena who deceives Geetha's father Raghuram who is actually an innocent victim, and in the process how the misunderstanding between Geetha and Vamsi gets cleared up, how Vamsi banishes the real criminal. The plot of the movie was inspired by the American movie Stakeout.

Raja Vikramarka (Chiranjeevi) is the prince of Skanda Dweepam, a small kingdom. As he is a prince, he is not allowed to live his own free life. His father (Satyanarayana) arranges his marriage with another kingdom's princess. She turns out to be nothing more than a sycophant, one without a brain or spine of her own. He leaves the kingdom with his trusted friend, Jockie (Bramhanandam), in order to live his own life. In the modern big city, he finds a friend and works as a mechanic, during which time he saves a girl (Amala) from two attempts at her life. Her uncle (Rao Gopal Rao) hires him as her bodyguard. Rao later reveals to him that he was in fact the assassin trying to kill her for her money. In order to thwart his plot, Raja agrees to handle the murder attempts, while at the same time trying to save her. After being kicked out of the house, her uncle, along with the other villains (Gollapudi Maruthi Rao and Kota Srinivasa Rao) join forces to kill Raja and his parents. Raja saves the day and rules as king of his land.
