Biography
Abbington is the longtime partner of British actor Martin Freeman, after they met on the set of the film Men Only in 2000. The couple have since appeared together on screen in productions such as The Debt, The Robinsons, The Good Night and Sherlock. They live in Hertfordshire and have two children together, Joe (born 2006) and Grace (born 2008).Abbington was declared bankrupt by the High Court in March 2013 as a result of £120,000 tax bill.

Martin Freeman plays frustrated TV producer Chris, a self-opinionated wannabe screenwriter (with a particular dislike of British films featuring quirky secondary characters and plastic gangsters) who is forced to leave his unreliable flatmate Bob played by Velibor Topic in charge of showing a series of estate agents around the house he is trying to sell. The movie follows a man's search for perfection in a world where life rarely measures up to the idealized images that constantly bombard us. Freeman plays Gary Shaller, who gained commercial success in previous years as the keyboard player in the fictional band "On The One". He is in a failing marriage with Dora (Gwyneth Paltrow), and working for his former band mate Paul, played by Simon Pegg, writing and recording commercial jingles. Gary eventually discovers that he is having lucid dreams about a glamorous woman named Anna, played by Penélope Cruz, with whom he is deeply infatuated. He aims to learn more about lucid dreaming by buying books and even attending classes taught by an eccentric lucid-dreaming enthusiast, Mel (Danny DeVito).
