Anne Reid, MBE (born 28 May 1935), is a BAFTA Award-nominated English stage, film and television actress from Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, known for her roles as Valerie Barlow in the television soap opera Coronation Street; Jean in Dinnerladies; and Celia Dawson in Last Tango in Halifax.

Reid was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2010 Birthday Honours.

Biography

Début de sa vie
Anne Reid est née à Newcastle et a vécu avec ses parents et ses trois frères. Dès ses 10 ans, elle vécut dans le pensionnat de Penrhos College, quand son père fut affecté à l'étranger comme correspondant étrangers pour le daily Telegraph. Durant ses vacances scolaires, elle ira très souvent rendre visite à sa famille en Inde, Téhéran ou encore Beyrouth. À la fin de ses études, elle déménagera à Londres pour suivre des cours à la Royal Academy of Dramatic.
