Barbara Harris (born July 25, 1935) is an American actress who was a Broadway stage star and later became a movie actress. She appeared in such movies as A Thousand Clowns, Plaza Suite, Nashville, Family Plot, Freaky Friday, Peggy Sue Got Married, and Grosse Pointe Blank. Harris has won a Tony Award and has been nominated for an Academy Award and received four Golden Globe Award nominations.

Biography

Barbara Harris est la fille d'Oscar Harris, arboriste devenu plus tard homme d'affaires, et Natalie Densmoor, une pianiste accomplie. Adolescente, elle commence son apprentissage au Playwrights Theatre de Chicago où elle côtoie Edward Asner, Elaine May et Mike Nichols.

Elle apparait dans Nashville de Robert Altman chantant It Don't Worry Me (1975) . Elle tourne ensuite avec Alfred Hitchcock dans le dernier film de ce dernier, Complot de famille (1976). Après ce succès, elle tourne avec la jeune Jodie Foster dans Un vendredi dingue, dingue, dingue (1976), et remporte un nouveau succès. Son interprétation fait une telle impression que la série Disneyland lui fait re-jouer ce rôle dans deux épisodes.

En 1981, l'échec du film Cœurs d'occasion, réalisé par Hal Ashby, ralentit la carrière de Barbara Harris. Elle ne tourne plus jusqu'en 1986, date à laquelle on la revoit dans Peggy Sue s'est mariée. Elle renoue avec le succès en 1988 avec Le Plus Escroc des deux, mais s'éloigne ensuite à nouveau des caméras et travaille comme professeur d'art dramatique.

Jack Frost is awakened from the depths of a frozen pond with amnesia. Upon discovering no one can see or hear him however, he wanders off alone. Three hundred years later Jack, as the spirit of Winter, enjoys delivering snow days to school kids, but resents that they do not believe in him and still cannot see him. At the North Pole, the Man in the Moon warns Nicholas St. North (Santa Claus) that Pitch Black, the Boogeyman, is threatening the children of the world with his nightmares. He calls E. Set after the events of the first film, Babe (now voiced by Elizabeth Daily) and his master, farmer Arthur Hoggett (James Cromwell), are given a welcome home parade after Babe's success as a "sheepdog". One day, Babe inadvertently causes an accident to befall Arthur, who ends up in the hospital. Esme is unsuccessful tending the farm on her own. A few days later, two men from the bank tell her she and Arthur have not paid their rent on time, and at the end of the month, Esme and Arthur will soon be evicted from their farm. Among the many letters from their fans, Esme locates one saying that if she enters Babe in a sheepdog herding contest, held at a fair far away, she will win a large amount of money. She decides to enter Babe instead, and they leave the farm together.
