Catherine et Marie-Pierre Castel travaillent dans la coiffure et rêvent de cinéma quand un assistant de Jean Rollin les présente au cinéaste. Leur gémellité et leur candeur séduisent le réalisateur qui trouve en elles l'incarnation des deux jeunes filles vampires, personnages récurrents de son œuvre cinématographique et littéraire.
Catherine Castel apparaît aux côtés de sa sœur jumelle Marie-Pierre Castel dans La Vampire nue (1969) et dans Lèvres de sang (1975). Enceinte au moment du tournage, elle laisse à Marie-Pierre l'opportunité de tenir le rôle principal de Requiem pour un vampire. Elle utilise parfois le pseudonyme de Cathy Tricot ou Catherine Tricot. En dehors des films tournés sous la direction de Jean Rollin, on peut citer une participation, en 1977, au film de Francis Girod René la Canne aux côtés de Gérard Depardieu et Sylvia Kristel.
Entre 1975 et 1978 elle fait carrière dans le cinéma pornographique et tourne dans une quinzaine de films X. On la voit à cinq reprises partager l'écran avec sa sœur dans des scènes qui exploitent la gémellité des « deux petits elfes pervers ». Elle travaille également comme maquilleuse sur quelques films de Jean Rollin.
Après plus de vingt ans passées loin des caméras elle revient en 1999 pour témoigner dans le premier épisode de la série documentaire Eurotika! consacré à Jean Rollin et fait, en 2002, une apparition dans La Fiancée de Dracula.

At a reception for the launch of a new perfume, a man named Frédéric sees a photo of the ruins of an old château by the sea. His mind takes him back to when he was a young boy, walking up to the gate of the château and speaking with a girl who appears to be a little older than he is. Young Frédéric opens the gate and the girl tells him to go to sleep, and later she returns and wakes him. He leaves her and closes the gate behind him. The girl tells him to open the gate but he promises her that he will be back to free her. Frédéric's mind then comes back to reality and he becomes convinced that the meeting between him and the girl actually happened. He tells his mother, who begins to act strangely and tells him he must have imagined it. He does not agree and sets out to find the girl and set her free.

In a strange laboratory men in weird masks take the blood of a naked young woman. Another woman in an orange nightgown is wandering the streets and is followed by a group of people also wearing weird masks. The woman comes across a man named Pierre who tries to help her but the masked men corner them and shoot the woman; Pierre escapes unharmed.
