Charlotte Kerr (May 29, 1927 – December 28, 2011) was a German director, film producer, actress, writer and journalist.
She first performed on stage in Fritz Kortner’s version of Schiller’s Don Carlos in 1951. She became well known for her television role as commander of the spaceship Hydra in the Raumpatrouille series and for her appearances in the films of Rainer Erler, including Fleisch.
In 1971, she was a member of the jury at the 21st Berlin International Film Festival.
In 1983, during the filming of a film about the Greek minister Melina Mercouri, Kerr met the Swiss poet Friedrich Dürrenmatt. They became close after discussing his latest play Achterloo and were married in 1984. The two collaborated on the film Portrait eines Planeten and the play Rollenspiele. Dürrenmatt died in 1990. Her autobiography, Die Frau im roten Mantel, discussed her life with the writer. In 2000, her Centre Dürrenmatt was opened in Neuchâtel.
She took legal action against the writer Hugo Loetscher for an alleged affront of her dignity and personal rights in his book about Dürrenmatt's death and funeral, which was released 13 years after Dürrenmatt's death and published by Lesen statt Klettern.
She died on December 28, 2011 in a hospital in Bern.

Swann (Jeremy Irons), an eligible bachelor in the best circles of fin-de-siècle Paris, has also some more vulgar but rich friends, the Verdurins. Through them he meets Odette (Ornella Muti), a courtesan, with whom he falls hopelessly in love. She seems to enjoy his company, for which he pays, but considers herself free to socialise and sleep where she pleases, particularly with a rival called de Forcheville. Swann’s passion turns to consuming jealousy, which leads him eventually to accept the social stigma of marrying her. One old friend, the overtly gay Charlus (Alain Delon), stays sympathetic.

Le film est construit autour du discours d'un cameraman fictif, Sandor Krasna, rédacteur de lettres lues tout au long du film par Florence Delay. Dans ses écrits, il va traiter successivement du temps, de la mémoire, de la fragilité humaine face aux séismes du Japon ou encore face à la famine, menace constante au Cap Vert ou en Guinée-Bissau. Le cinéaste voyage alors aux « deux pôles extrêmes de la survie » tel qu'il le dit lui-même. Il montrera non pas les difficultés pour ces sociétés à s'en sortir, mais plutôt leur façon de vivre et d'exister au-delà de ce qui peut leur coûter la vie. Car comme il l'annonce : « Moi, ce que je veux vous montrer, ce sont les fêtes de quartier ».

Next to a church in a prosperous German industrial town is the Eden bar, a night club and brothel. The Eden bar is a thorn in the side of the worldly innocent monk Father Malachia (Horst Bollmann), who is praying to God that he will close the bar. The prayer is heard and the building and the bar and all people inside vanish and reappear on an island in the North Sea. This apparent miracle draws the attention of the media, politicians and scientists, all trying to find rational explanations. The Catholic Church is reluctant to officially recognize this occurrence as a miracle, both fearing a loss of control in matters of faith, or a loss of face if the disappareance of the Eden bar would turn out to be a fabrication.
