Dina Pathak (née Gandhi; 4 March 1922 – 11 October 2002) was a veteran actor and director of Gujarati theatre and also a film actor. She also was an activist and remained the President of the 'National Federation of Indian Women' (NIFW).
A doyenne of Hindi and Gujarati films as well as theatre, Dina Pathak acted in over 120 films in a career spanning over six decades. Her production Mena Gurjari in Bhavai folk theatre style, ran successfully for many years, and is now a part of its repertoire.
She is best known for her memorable roles in the Hindi films Gol Maal and Khubsoorat. She was a favourite of the Art Cinema in India where she played powerful roles in films like Koshish, Umrao Jaan, Mirch Masala and Mohan Joshi Hazir Ho!.
Her notable Gujarati films were Moti Ba, Malela Jeev, and Bhavni Bhavai while her well-known plays include Dinglegar, Doll's House, Vijan Sheni and Girish Karnad's Hayavadana, directed by Satyadev Dubey.

Badal (Bobby Deol) is a young man with a tragic childhood. The film CHAMPION is a tale about a man who has a quest, a dream to be the best of the best. The film centres on four main characters, namely Rajveer Singh (Sunny Deol), a simpleton from a village in Punjab, whose sole dream in life is to become a super-cop and wipe off all crime. After, training, he gets his first posting at Mumbai for a special assignment. Bubbling with enthusiasm, an arrival, he is shocked to find that his job is to protect a nine-year-old boy, Abbas Khan (Abhishek Sharma). A bodyguard, after all the rigorous training to eliminate hardcore criminals! Abbas is the sole heir to millions of riches left to him by his parents, who have expired in a drastic plane crash. The only threat to Abbas's life is Nazir (Rahul Dev), who has a personal vendetta because of which he venomously stalks the innocent child. Abbas's only guardian is Sapna (Manisha Koirala), who is close to Abbas and his family. Sapna, a vivacious lady and a successful model, is the only source of love, affection and fun in Abbas's life. Rajveer and Abbas hate each other from the world go. Rajveer dislikes this naughty spoilt rich brat for being the cause of his shattered dream of becoming a super-cop whereas Abbas hates Rajveer for curtailing his freedom to do things as he pleases. Abbas then calls upon his messiah, Sapna, to take care of this dictator in his life and together they play pranks on Rajveer to get rid of him. From here starts a very interesting love-hate relationship filled with fun and laughter, only to culminate into Rajveer and Sapna falling in love and Abbas and Rajveer developing a relationship of understanding by the end of the day where Rajveer is ready to risk everything to protect Abbas from Nazir, the only danger in Abbas's life. But this time Nazir has made several chilling attempts to eliminate Abbas. Now the only way to get Abbas out of danger is for Rajveer to nab Nazir and he does not just that, with a powerful climax to this saga. Rajveer kills Nazir in a thrilling climax, rescuing Abbas.

Sunil (Apoorva Agnihotri) and Ashok are two close friends. They are of marriageable age. One day Ashok's mom tells him to introduce himself to Shalu. But Ashok is reluctant to do so. In the meantime, Shalu and Nisha (Mahima Chaudhry) have also decided like-wise, and planned to fool Sunil. But when the two couples meet, Sunil and Nisha fall in love, but are unable to tell each other of their impersonations. When they do so, they are already in love, and after meeting each other's parents, they get married. Enter Sunil's elder brother Anand (Sunny Deol), and complications abound. Anand is involved in criminal activities, he wants to give up those, but his partners will not allow him to do so. Nisha works for Anand and he is in love with her and would like to marry her, but when he finds out that his brother loves her he steps down. Sunil and Nisha get married and have a kid but then Sunil is killed by Anands business partners who believe it to be Anand. Nisha's parents want her to get married again so Anand marries her as he still loves her. Anand then finds out that Sunil is alive and brings him back home even though Sunil had left because he knew that Anand loved Nisha. Anand is killed by the bad guys and Sunil and Nisha live happily ever after.
