Domiziana Giordano (born September 4, 1959) is an artist, actress, photographer and video artist. Domiziana has played the lead role in films directed by Nicolas Roeg, Jean-Luc Godard, Andrei Tarkovsky, Mauro Bolognini, Neil Jordan, Ken McMullen and many others.
After completing her studies at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Rome, Giordano furthered her education at the Stella Adler Studios for acting in New York, as well as at The New York Film Academy for film directing. After her studies, she continued to work on visual arts and photography, beginning her career as an assistant director for stage and film.
Giordano first appeared on screen in Mario Monicelli's Amici miei Atto II in 1982. In 1983, she appeared as the female protagonist in Andrey Tarkovsky's Nostalghia. In 1986 Giordano won the International Fantasy Film Award at Fantasporto for her lead performance as the daughter of Leon Trotsky in Ken McMullen's award winning film: Zina (1985). Giordano also played roles in such films as Jean-Luc Godard's Nouvelle Vague (1990) and Neil Jordan's Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994).
Besides her visual art work, she has also written poetry and articles about the history of the Art Critic that have been published in a very prestigious literary magazine in Italy. Her photographic work was nominated for the Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie de Arles in 2002. Giordano also collaborates with the online magazine Nova of the Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore.
Giordano's work includes researching the interaction among various disciplines and across the study of language, communication and sociology. Her work is a fusion of interactive content and structure, digging deep into the roots of visual art, the science of semiotics, cinema and new technology.

Biography

La Contessa Elena Torlato-Favrini (her last name taken from The Barefoot Contessa) is a wealthy Italian industrialist living in a sprawling estate near Lake Geneva, Switzerland. She is attended by Jules the Gardener, his wife Yvonne, their daughter Cécile, the chauffeur Laurent, and the mysterious Della Larue (or "Della Street," a reference to Erle Stanley Gardner's Perry Mason stories). At the film's opening, Elena goes for a drive by herself and encounters Roger Lennox (his last name taken from The Long Goodbye), an apparent drifter. Elena's trajectory is brought to an abrupt halt as she stops to help Roger, who has evidently been forced off the road by a truck and is severely incapacitated. The four old friends meet on the grave of the fifth of them, Giorgio Perozzi, who died at the end of the first episode. Putting a conversation in front of the tomb of his friend, Lello Mascetti, Guido Necchi, Rambaldo Melandri and Alpheus Sassaroli reminiscent of the great and exciting filth and jokes that made George Perozzi, the friend died of a heart attack. So the movie comes back from the Eighties to 1968 in Florence when the wife of Perozzi was tired of his infidelities daily with eager baker's wife. While Perozzi liked to put the horns to his wife and grow in the miserable son of Count Mascetti studio, since he did not want his feet while he enjoyed in his escapades, Melandri falls in love with a beautiful lady with a rich dowry. The two marry and friends continue to combine their trouble, and then the poor Rambaldo finds himself also to stage a performance of the Passion of Jesus because of the extreme religiosity of the new wife. His friends mock and then find themselves facing the terrible flood that hit the city in that year, making the overflow Arno. Beds, furniture and people floating through the old streets of the old town and the wife of Perozzi he discovers his wife clinging to the basket. Returning to the present the four friends burst into laughter remember the details, but now they face the difficulties of the present. The minor child of Mascetti was impregnated by a crude and vulgar dishwasher and below is also haunted by debts to pay for the rental of the studio. He thinks to rely on a loan shark (Paolo Stoppa), but does nothing but accumulate its problems. Then the three friends involved in the rescue and Sassaroli, an expert surgeon, slimy man who pretends to have a problem with kidney stones. Thanks charade loan shark pay their money Sassaroli that lends them to the count Mascetti to pay the rent. Among the many adventures of Mascetti there is also that the sexual encounter with a Spanish dancer but was forced to leave quickly because he copulating with her in a luxurious room tree and does not know how to pay the bills.
