Biography
Giorgi was born in Rome. She made her film debut in a minor role in Paolo Cavara's horror film Black Belly of the Tarantula (1970) and subsequently appeared in nearly fifty films, including Domenico Paolella's Story of a Cloistered Nun (1973), Salvatore Samperi's La sbandata (1974), Pasquale Festa Campanile's Conviene far bene l'amore (U.S. title: Love and Energy) (1976), Franco Brusati's To Forget Venice (1979), Dario Argento's Inferno (1980), Nino Manfredi's Nudo di donna (1981), and Liliana Cavani's Beyond Obsession (1982). For her performance in Carlo Verdone's Borotalco (1982), she won the Nastro d'Argento award and David di Donatello award for Best Actress.In 2003, Giorgi wrote and directed the film Uomini & donne, amori & bugie (U.S. title: Love, Lies, Kids... & Dogs).

Sandro (Nino Manfredi) et Laura (Eleonora Giorgi) sont mariés depuis 16 ans. Laura a hérité d'une librairie d'ouvrages anciens et d'art dans Venise. Leur couple est en crise et ils sont souvent au bord de la rupture. En pleine biennale de Venise, Sandro quitte le domicile conjugal. Il est recueilli par Zanetto (Georges Wilson), un marginal homosexuel autour duquel s'agglutinent artistes et marginaux. Dans le grenier, il découvre une photo très grand format d'une femme couchée, nue, de dos, qu'il trouve ressemblante à Laura. Rose Elliot (Miracle), a poet living alone in New York City, finds an ancient book called The Three Mothers. It tells of three evil sisters who rule the world with sorrow, tears, and darkness. The book, written by an architect named Varelli, reveals that the three dwell inside separate homes that had been built for them by the architect in Rome, Freiburg, and New York. Rose suspects that she is living in one of the buildings and writes to her brother Mark (McCloskey) in Rome, urging him to visit her. Using clues provided in the book as a guide, Rose searches the cellar of her building and discovers a hole in the floor which leads to a water-filled ballroom. She accidentally drops her keys and enters the water to find them. After she reclaims the keys, a putrid corpse suddenly rises from the depths, frightening her.

Adriano Celentano performs the role of Guido Quiller, the inventor and main patent propietor of a virtually indestructible type of armored glass which is used to secure jewelry shop windows. The success of this merchandise occurs at the chagrin of several influential insurance companies, chiefly the La Suisse Assurance in Geneva, who see their winnings from one of their most profitable income niches dwindling, and they attempt to gain the patent to the invention and then get rid of it altogether. As it so happens, Guido lives enstranged from his wife Petula, the other patent holder to the glass, who would be more accessible to the insurance companies' offers. Her condition for the divorce from Guido would be that he should transfer all his exclusive rights to the production of the Quiller glass - and thereby his whole fortune - to her, whereupon she would sell them to the Swiss Assurance and gain a princely monetary compensation in return.
