Biography
Il passe son enfance et son adolescence à Angers. Élève au lycée David-d'Angers puis étudiant en droit, il découvre le théâtre au Conservatoire d'Angers et est reçu à l'ENSATT (école de la Rue Blanche) en 1981. Sa carrière de comédien sur les planches le voit travailler sous la direction, entre autres, de Jean-Louis Thamin, Roger Planchon, Didier Bezace, Robert Hossein, Marion Bierry. Il s'oriente progressivement vers l'écriture de scénario à partir des années 2000, avant de passer à la réalisation en 2012 avec un premier court métrage, Géraldine je t'aime, avec Grégory Gadebois et Julie-Marie Parmentier, produit par Céline Chapdaniel (Polaris Films) et France 2. Il tourne son premier long métrage, Cessez-le-feu, en 2015, avec Romain Duris, Grégory Gadebois, Céline Sallette, produit par Christophe Mazodier et Céline Chapdaniel (Polaris film).Il a reçu une nomination au César du meilleur scénario original en 2010 pour Welcome, Prix Jacques-Prévert du scénario la même année.

À Lyon, Claire (Marie Gillain) est une jeune juge d'instance confrontée aux personnes en situation de surendettement, notamment à une jeune femme, Céline (Amandine Dewasmes), qu'elle tente d'aider. The film tells the story of Simon Calmat (Vincent Lindon), a French swimming coach who is divorcing his wife Marion (Audrey Dana). Simon tries to help a young Iraqi-Kurd immigrant, Bilal Kayani (Firat Ayverdi), whose dream is to cross the English Channel from Calais in France to the United Kingdom by any means possible to be reunited with his girlfriend Mina (Derya Ayverdi). Meanwhile, Mina's father strongly opposes Bilal's plans as he wants to marry his daughter to her cousin who owns a restaurant. After being caught with other immigrants and returned to France, Simon gives him temporary refuge at his home after the young Bilal, nicknamed "Bazda" (runner, for his athletic abilities and love of football and Manchester United in particular) registers for swimming lessons, intending to train to be able to swim across the Channel. After police search Simon's apartment, Bilal goes on a final attempt and drowns 800 meters from the English coast while hiding from the coastguard. Simon then travels to inform Mina.

In this fast-paced French comedy, a gambler, anxious to escape the thugs who pursue him after her reneged on a bet, mistakenly agrees to enter the safety of the Amazon jungle with an ethnologist's son to search for the missing soul of an ailing Indian. Perrin's ordeal begins in an elevator where he encounters Campana, the French scientist who was raised in the distant jungle, and his companion Wanu, an Amazon shaman who has left his remote home to help Campana campaign on the rain forest's behalf. When Wanu, wearing little more than feathers, skins and a plate in his lip, suddenly tweak's the nose of Perrin and proclaims him the "chosen one", Perrin is naturally surprised. He is more surprised when Wanu shows up in his lavish apartment that night, drugs him and covers him with ritual markings thereby creating a magical link between them. The next day Wanu suffers a heart attack that he interprets as the theft of his soul. He beckons Perrin beside him and insists that he go to the jungle and find his soul, which has taken the form of a jaguar. Unfortunately for Perrin, the dense jungle proves to be far more dangerous than any gambler's henchmen and comical chaos ensues as he struggles to survive.
