Carmelo, is 30 years old and extremely shy. He finds it difficult to reveal his innermost feelings to Verónica his coworker. When Verónica announces that she is engaged to be married to a rich and handsome man, Carmello is heartbroken. In an odd twist of fate Verónica sees Carmelo at a gay rally, and assumes that he is gay. Carmelo doesn't correct this impression and finds the ruse as a way to open up to her. Verónica soon falls for Carmelo, and leaves her fiance for her "gay" boy friend, who then reveals his real orientation.

The film shows the encounters and romances of several characters who seek love counsel through the eponymous late-night radio talk-show, conducted by Octavio (Siro). Octavio sets up blind dates among the characters, mainly advising Sarah (Pecoraro), a thirty-something loner who is hooked up with Fernandez (Martínez), a shy, introverted man who still lives with his father. Floreal is released from prison prior to the end of a military coup d'état in 1983. He discovers his wife has cheated on him and is not sure he wants to return to his former life and family. A friend, "El-Negro", who was killed during the military coup, appears in the night with a special mission: to help Floreal face what has happened when he was serving time in prison. El-Negro helps him to live through the important events that happened in his absence. El-Negro helps him get past his anger, understanding how hard it was to endure such a difficult time and how the military coup had crushed people's lives. When El-Negro finally tells him he must return, Floreal realizes he must be strong and, like his coup-stricken country, pick up and go on with his life.
