Herbert Arthur Wiglev Clamor Grönemeyer (born 12 April 1956) is a German musician and actor, popular in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He starred as war correspondent Lieutenant Werner in Wolfgang Petersen's movie Das Boot, but later concentrated on his musical career. His fifth album 4630 Bochum (1984) and his 11th album Mensch (Human) (2002) are the third and first best-selling records in Germany respectively, making him the most successful artist in Germany with combined album sales over 13 million.

Ian Curtis (Sam Riley) and Debbie Woodruff (Samantha Morton) marry in 1975 in their home town of Macclesfield at ages 19 and 18, respectively. Ian retreats from domestic life, preferring to write poetry in solitude. On June 4, 1976 they attend a Sex Pistols concert with Bernard Sumner (James Anthony Pearson), Peter Hook (Joe Anderson), and Terry Mason (Andrew Sheridan), who are starting a band. Mesmerized by the concert, Ian volunteers to be their singer. They name themselves Warsaw, and Terry moves into a managerial role with the addition of drummer Stephen Morris (Harry Treadaway). The band debuts 19 May 1977 and soon rename themselves Joy Division. Ian and Debbie finance their first EP, An Ideal for Living (1978).

Clara Wieck vit avec son père Friedrich Wieck, professeur de piano, à Leipzig. Il est convaincu de son talent au piano et fait tout son possible pour révéler sa fille. Inlassablement il oblige l'enfant prodige à des répétitions et des concerts. En voyant la réussite de la jeune fille et donc des méthodes du père, d'autres jeunes pianistes sont séduits. Le jeune pianiste et compositeur Robert Schumann est un élève de Wieck. Clara est âgée de 11 ans, Robert en a 20. Des années plus tard, Clara tombe amoureuse de Robert, compositeur talentueux mais sans succès. Le père Wieck s'oppose à leur union et envoie sa fille à Dresde prendre des cours de chant pour les séparer. Le jeune couple n'abandonne pas. Robert retrouve Clara, ils décident de se marier. Cependant, ils ont besoin de l'accord du père de la jeune fille. Ils lui intentent un procès devant un tribunal de Leipzig qu'ils remportent. Cela aboutit à la rupture entre le père et la fille, entre le professeur et l'élève.

He meets its captain (Jürgen Prochnow), chief engineer (Klaus Wennemann), and the crew in a French nightclub. Thomsen (Otto Sander), another captain, gives a crude drunken speech to celebrate his Ritterkreuz award, in which he openly mocks not only Winston Churchill but implicitly Adolf Hitler as well.

Jack (George Clooney), a gunsmith and contract killer, and his lover, Ingrid (Irina Björklund), are relaxing in Sweden. Jack becomes alarmed by a trail of footprints in the snow and pulls Ingrid towards shelter. Sniper gunshots ring out. Ingrid sees Jack pull a gun from his pocket and shoot the approaching sniper. Knowing his identity is in jeopardy, and with little hesitation, Jack shoots and kills Ingrid. He flees to Rome and contacts his handler Pavel (Johan Leysen), who insists that Jack cannot stay in Rome. Pavel sends him to Castelvecchio (a small town in the mountains of Abruzzo). Jack becomes nervous, and, disposing of the cell phone Pavel gave him, goes to nearby Castel del Monte, Abruzzo, instead.
