Elle a vécu avec Benjamin Baltimore (1968-1978), Wim Wenders (1980-1983) et Olivier Assayas (1988-1996). Elle n'a jamais été mariée.

Biography
Découverte en 1971 par Robert Bresson qui lui offre le rôle principal de Quatre nuits d'un rêveur, Isabelle Weingarten joue en 1973 dans La Maman et la Putain de Jean Eustache. Photographe de longue date, elle commence à travailler comme portraitiste pour les Cahiers du cinéma en 1986, et la photographie devient son activité principale. Depuis 2008, elle travaille sur l'œuvre de son père, le poète et dramaturge Romain Weingarten.Vie privée

A film crew in Portugal shoots a black-and-white science fiction film about the survivors on a post-apocalyptic Earth, titled The Survivors. The film focuses on three twenty-somethings in an unconventional love triangle in Paris during the summer of 1972. Alexandre (Jean-Pierre Léaud) is an unemployed young man involved with both a live-in girlfriend Marie (Bernadette Lafont) and the Polish nurse Veronika (Françoise Lebrun). He had picked up Veronika at a café after an unsuccessful reconciliation with a former love, Gilberte (Isabelle Weingarten). With Veronika, he begins a desultory affair.
