Jean-Pierre Noher (born May 5, 1956) is a Franco-Argentine theater, film and television actor.
The great-nephew of famed director Max Ophüls, Noher was born in Paris, in 1956. He relocated to Argentina as a young man, and debuted on Argentine television with a part in a soap opera, Novia de vacaciones, in 1979. He then began work in the local theatre, and debuted in a local production of Romeo and Juliet, in 1982.
His first film role was in Alejandro Doria's tragedy, Darse cuenta, in 1984, though Noher continued to work mostly in the theatre in subsequent years. Noher's first leading role was as a land developer with a change of heart in Eduardo Spagnuolo's Sin reserva (1997), and in 2000, he was cast as writer Jorge Luis Borges in Javier Torre's fact-based Un amor de Borges; the role secured him awards at the Gramado Film Festival, Miami International Film Festival, and the Biarritz International Festival of Latin American Cinema.
Noher played Ernesto Guevara Lynch, the father of Che Guevara in the openeing scenes of Walter Salles' The Motorcycle Diaries (2004). Remaining active in the theatre, he worked with two veteran actors as directors: China Zorrilla and Victor Laplace, who in 2010 reprised his film role as populist leader Juan Perón opposite Noher's Borges (an opponent of Perón) in Borges y Perón.
Noher's son, Michel Noher, born in Buenos Aires in 1983, has starred in Alejandro Doria's biopic, Las manos (2006), and in Francis Ford Coppola's 2009 feature, Tetro.

Virginie, une jeune ethnobotaniste française sur-diplômée, part travailler à Manaus, au Brésil. The film begins with in a seemingly innocuous radio talk show. One caller confesses his necrophilia tendencies, which was used by a co-worker in order to blackmail him. A student wants to finally try to abandon the call girl job, with which she finances her education and a gang of youngsters decide to do something about the violent husband of a neighbour, while a young writer is searching for a woman, who will mysteriously safe his live in the end. The story is centered around a family of five, a father, mother, their two sons, and daughter, revolving around the father. The reality within the diegesis is the one of the father, Leonardo. The film plays with chronology and reality. Leonardo is a well-known writer and playwright, whose his wife left university studies to take care of the family. The film begins with a scene of a dinner in which Leonardo seems uncomfortable because, as is learned later in the film, he is witnessing a possible affair between his wife and an old college friend of hers. The film documents the troubles of the marriage as Leonardo has a brief affair with his dentist shortly after his youngest daughter leaves to Israel with her new husband Ianib. Leonardo's version of reality is, at many times, questionable during the film. He talks to a doctor that researches memory and they talk about the construction of memory and fantasy and it alludes to the self-reflexivity of the film. Leonardo's son in law Ianib leaves behind a book for him to read and asks for his opinion of it. Leonardo takes some time to actually read the book even though he carries it around for most of the film. When he finally reads the book, he is surprised to find out that it is brilliant. This scene is accompanied with a distinct use of lighting that focuses on Leonardo and his absorption within the novel.
