She also has portrayed Zoey Pierson, one of Ted Mosby's love interests on How I Met Your Mother (season 6) and Winona Kirk, mother of James T. Kirk in Star Trek

Four years after Kirk's promotion in 2259, the starship USS Enterprise studies a primitive culture on the planet Nibiru. Captain James T. Kirk and his First Officer, Commander Spock, save the planet's inhabitants from an extinction-threatening volcanic eruption, but Kirk violates the Prime Directive, exposing the Enterprise to the native inhabitants to save Spock's life. Returning to Earth, Kirk loses command of the Enterprise and Admiral Christopher Pike is reinstated as its commanding officer with Kirk demoted to first officer and the rank of Commander. For his part in the incident, Spock is reassigned to another ship. An officers' meeting is called to discuss the bombing of a Section 31 installation in London perpetrated by the renegade Starfleet operative John Harrison (Cumberbatch). Harrison attacks the meeting in a jumpship, killing Pike. Kirk disables the jumpship, but Harrison uses a portable transporter to escape to Kronos, the homeworld of hostile aliens known as Klingons.

L'action d'Event 15 se situe dans un centre médical militaire à Washington DC. Trois soldats récemment rentrés du Moyen-Orient et souffrant des effets du syndrome de stress post-traumatique, y suivent un traitement sous la supervision de médecins militaires. Alors que les soldats s’apprêtent à quitter l'établissement médical en empruntant le même ascenseur, et qu'ils se font une joie de retrouver famille et amis afin de panser leurs blessures psychologiques, l'ascenseur tombe en panne entre deux étages. Ils apprennent alors que Washington DC subit une attaque terroriste de grande ampleur à laquelle les autorités répondent en ordonnant l'évacuation de la ville.Ne pouvant compter sur aucune aide pour les sortir de leur "cage métallique", isolés et confrontés à la perspective d'une mort par irradiation, cette situation stressante fait remonter les souvenirs traumatisants de leur expérience au Moyen-Orient. Plutôt que de s'entraider pour se sortir de ce mauvais pas, les trois soldats vont se livrer une lutte sans merci afin de prendre le contrôle, quitte à ce qu'un seul survive à cette expérience.

U.S. Marine Tommy Riordan visits his father, Paddy Conlon (Nick Nolte), a recovering alcoholic who has returned to his Catholic faith.
