The story of the film is based on an old legend, that Santa Claus (or God in the original legend) gives animals the ability to speak on Christmas. The film takes place in a fictional rural farming community named Twobridge somewhere in Tennessee, where a young calf named Annabelle is born on Christmas Eve. Upon meeting Santa Claus, she becomes fascinated with reindeer and their ability to fly, and wishes to fly herself. At the same time, having been granted the temporary ability to speak, she befriends her farmer's grandson, Billy, who suffered from muteness due to a terrible fire at Annabelle's barn one night. Throughout the course of the year, they learn the true value of friendship and learn that with faith and a willingness to overcome great odds, anybody can achieve their dreams. Once Annabelle loses her ability to talk, the ability is permanently given to Billy, who later finds out. At the end of the movie, when Billy's a grown man and is now in love with and married to his childhood friend, Emily, Santa Claus grants Annabelle's wish of flying by turning her into one of his reindeer, returning her ability to speak in the process.

The Flintstones and the Rubbles go to Hollyrock to visit their children, Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm (who is trying his luck at being a screenwriter), after the former reveals that she and Bamm-Bamm are going to have a baby. During the visit, they drive Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm bananas by telling them what to do now that Pebbles is going to have a baby, even though they can take care of themselves. Meanwhile, Fred and Barney help Bamm-Bamm sell his script, but end up in a mess with a robbery of a giant pearl when it is mistaken for a bowling ball. Big Rock sends his henchmen Rocky and Slick to recover the giant pearl. Fred and Barney manage to get the tickets to a taping of a show at ABC studios in hopes to sell Bamm-Bamm's script. Fred and Barney encounter Shelley Millstone in hopes to have her for Bamm-Bamm's film. It doesn't go well and the security guard is called in to eject them. A chase begins throughout the ABC studios and they eventually get thrown out.

Jafar, Grand Vizier to the Sultan of the fictional sultanate of Agrabah, attempts to retrieve a magical oil lamp containing a genie from the Cave of Wonders. George, a former mental patient and pathological liar, is released from the hospital, and he is quickly, purposefully mistaken for millionaire brewery heir Abe Fielding by a troop of actors hired by the dubious and unscrupulous business manager Rupert. Rupert needs George to believe he is Fielding in order to kill him off and inherit the Fielding Brewery and family fortune. Eddie Dash, a con man who tenuously and forcefully befriends George due to a community service assignment attempts at first to capitalize on George's mistaken identity--but after being conned by Rupert into killing George for profit, turns the tables on Rupert and helps George fake his death, only to come back to the land of the living and inheriting both the brewery and the Fielding fortune instead. The story is about five people who run a public monster truck show led by Yank Justice, driver of Bigfoot. The other members of the show include Red & Redder (twin sisters who drive Black Gold), Professor Dee (driver of the Orange Blossom Special), and Close McCall (driver of War Lord). Nick Gardenia (Chevy Chase), an out-of-luck writer, has the use of a friend's oceanside cabin in Big Sur, California.
