Jeremiah "Jerry" O'Connell (born February 17, 1974) is an American actor, best known for his roles as Quinn Mallory in the TV series Sliders, Andrew Clements in My Secret Identity, Vern Tessio in the film Stand by Me, Derek in Scream 2, Charlie Carbone in Kangaroo Jack, and Detective Woody Hoyt on the drama Crossing Jordan. He starred as Pete Kaczmarek in the CBS TV series The Defenders until its cancellation in 2011. He also had a starring role in the comedy horror film Piranha 3D.
After weeks of officially stating that the couple were "trying" to get pregnant, a publicist for the pair confirmed that Romijn was pregnant with twin girls. When talking about having children, O'Connell said "I am excited I am having girls. I know guys are supposed to say, 'I want a boy. I want to play baseball,' but I think I'm going to be good raising girls...I can't wait. They're going to be tough chicks. They're only having sex when I'm dead. If they don't date boys at all and just want them to be infatuated with their father, that's what I'm really going for." The girls, Dolly Rebecca Rose and Charlie Tamara Tulip, were born on December 28, 2008. Dolly is named for singer Dolly Parton and Charlie is named for O'Connell's brother.
O'Connell enrolled in Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles in August 2009 but dropped out to return to acting full-time.

Between 2003 to 2004, O'Connell was in a relationship with television personality Giuliana Rancic. On July 14, 2007, O'Connell married actress and former model Rebecca Romijn.After weeks of officially stating that the couple were "trying" to get pregnant, a publicist for the pair confirmed that Romijn was pregnant with twin girls. Six mois après la mort de Superman après avoir vaincu Doomsday, quatre nouvelles versions du héros apparaissent: Superboy, Steel, Cyborg, Superman et Eradicator. Lois Lane, encore sous le choc de la mort de Clark, décide de mener une enquête. Lex Luthor tient une conférence de presse présentant Superboy comme le véritable Superman, sponsorisé et financé par LexCorp. Lois assiste à la conférence avec Steel et se faufile dans l'un des laboratoires de LexCorp. Là, Lois apprend du scientifique Dabney Donovan que Superboy est un clone de Superman. Soudainement, la conférence est attaquée par l'éradicateur, qui cherche à "éradiquer" Luthor. Superboy et plus tard Steel tentent de l'arrêter, mais sont vaincus jusqu'à l'arrivée à temps de Cyborg Superman, qui se bat et chasse Eradicator. Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan get together to make a sex tape with over 20 cameras beside Sheen's bed. The time-lapsed tape fast forwards through the two doing all sorts of bedroom antics, including gymnastics, riding a horse, and having clowns jump in under the sheets. Sheen is pulled into the air by a paranormal force and thrown against walls, shelves, and doors until he lands on the bed again. Lohan is frightened so she decides to go home when she flies into the air as well; she becomes possessed and throws him into the camera and kills him. The text explains that Sheen's body was found that day but he didn't stop partying until days later, and that his three kids were found missing, Lohan was arrested, again, and a reward was put out for the missing children.

The film opens with a young couple sitting in their car on a hillside outside of the city as an apparent meteor streaks across the sky and smashes into the couple's car. It is revealed that that meteorite is actually Black Adam, returning to Earth after a long exile. The film then cuts to young Billy Batson living in a rundown slum, with very little food and rats for pets. He gets out of bed wearing a t-shirt with the Superman crest. He goes to the kitchen to find food, but discovers he only has potato chips, which he ends up feeding to the rats.
