Joe Dinicol (born December 22, 1983) is a Canadian actor. Dinicol was born in Stratford, Ontario, the son of Emma (née Neville) and acting coach and actor Keith Dinicol. His maternal grandfather was English-born actor John Neville. He started his career as a child actor at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, and has since appeared on the Canadian television series Train 48 and Rideau Hall.
On stage, Dinicol has appeared in Antony and Cleopatra, The Merry Wives of Windsor, Waiting for Godot, and Richard III at the Stratford Festival, and The Needfire at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto. He also performed in the 1996 recording of Waiting for Godot for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. His most recent performance was as the second male lead in Paul Gross's Passchendaele released in 2008. Dinicol was the lead of the Amazon produced show, Betas.

In Toronto, 22-year-old Scott Pilgrim, bass guitarist of floundering garage band Sex Bob-omb, is dating high schooler Knives Chau, to the disapproval of his friends. Scott meets an American Amazon.com delivery girl, Ramona Flowers, having first seen her in a dream, and loses interest in Knives. As Sex Bob-omb plays in a battle of the bands sponsored by one "G-Man Graves," Scott is attacked by Ramona's ex-boyfriend Matthew Patel. Scott defeats Patel and learns that, in order to date Ramona, he must defeat the remaining six evil exes. Ethan Morgan (Matthew Knight) is a geeky freshman, not trusted by his parents to stay home alone with his little sister Jane. They hire Erica (Kate Todd), a girl from Ethan's high school who is a huge fan of "Dusk" (a parody of Twilight), as a babysitter. However, Erica comes across her best friend Sarah (Vanessa Morgan), and Jesse (Joe Dinicol), Sarah's vampire ex-boyfriend, on the night she is to babysit, and decides to attend a party that Jesse is throwing instead. The film begins with footage from a news cameraman and reporter, who are covering a story about an immigrant man killing his wife and son before committing suicide. The son and wife turn into zombies and kill several medical personnel and police officers but leave one medic and a reporter bitten before being killed. Nothing much happens in the lives of 20-something pals Dexter and Royce except for getting high and hanging out with Royce’s girlfriend, Matilda ('Mattie'). Successful children's author Claire Holloway (Gabrielle Anwar) is troubled by nightmares, for which she is seeing a psychiatrist. The film showcases three 14-year-old girls: Dawn (Miriam McDonald), Becca (Megan Park), and Hannah (Alexis Dziena). Hannah finds herself on the receiving end of peer pressure from her friends to engage in oral sex with Nick Hartman, a typical 16-year-old egotistical "man-whore" whom Hannah likes. She believes that she has to behave in a particular fashion in order to fit in with her more sexually-active peers. As Hannah becomes more sexually "advanced", she does not reveal her sexual encounters and activities with Nick to her mother, who is quite concerned about the subject. Hannah regards her mother's concern as being intrusive, knowing she would be shocked if she knew. When Hannah's best friend Dawn gets syphilis (albeit being referenced in a nonchalant matter), the school nurses begin widespread testing. It soon becomes evident that the school is experiencing a syphilis epidemic. Although Nick is identified as the main spreader of the disease, he does not appreciate the serious nature of the issue and refuses to be tested, mocking those who undergo testing. Dawn reluctantly gets tested and discovers that she has contracted the disease. She realizes the consequences of her behavior and encourages her friends to get tested as well. Hannah notices a sore in her mouth one morning and decides to see the nurse, who tells Hannah that she is also infected. Thus, Hannah is forced to deal with the consequences of her actions.
