Kate Hodge (born January 2, 1966) is an American actress and film producer.

Biography

Career
Born in Berkeley, California, Hodge's first starring role was as Michelle, the heroine of the 1990 horror film Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III. The gore and content of the film was heavily edited and excised in order to obtain an R rating from the MPAA, which threatened to give it an X rating. She then portrayed tormented college student Randi Wallace in the syndicated horror series She-Wolf of London (1990–1991), which was later retitled Love and Curses. At the end of one early episode, when Randi and Professor Matheson (Neil Dickson) are pulling away in a car, she asks him if they can stop to rent Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III, an in-joke and reference to Hodge's earlier movie role.

From 2000–2001, Hodge played FBI Agent Annie Price on Level 9. She has also been in the films Rapid Fire (1992) opposite Brandon Lee, Desire (1993), The Hidden II (1994), Three Women of Pain (1997), and the independent movie I Will Avenge You, Iago! (2005) as Eve. Her television movies include Love Kills (1991), Pandora's Clock (1996), and Enough About Me (2005).

She has made appearances in several television series, including thirtysomething (1989), Tales from the Crypt (1990), Ellen (1994–1995), Cupid (1998), and Summerland. Hodge also had a lead role in the short-lived series The George Wendt Show (1995) as Libby Schuster, The Louie Show (1996) as Gretchen Lafayette, and Manhattan, AZ (2000) as Jane Pentowski. She was a series regular for ten episodes of the Fred Savage show Working (1998). Her character, Chris Grant, was originally introduced as a woman pretending to be a man in order to gain respect in the business world.

In addition to acting, Hodge has also produced two films, The Perfect Stranger (2005) and Black Velvet Pantsuit (1995), where she served as co-executive producer.

The alien criminal from the first movie is dead, but he left a few eggs which are hatching now. It is explained that on the alien's homeworld, evolution took two parallel paths: half of their race became violent criminals who live only for pleasure (the squid-like alien form briefly glimpsed in the first film), and the other half evolved beyond their base desires and even physical bodies, becoming creatures of pure energy. The good alien (Lloyd Gallagher), who still inhabits Tom Beck’s body, has been waiting just in case this happened. Unfortunately, his presence in the body has taken a terrible toll on it, draining it of life energy. Additionally relations with Beck’s daughter Juliet (Kate Hodge), now a cop herself, have deteriorated (possibly due to his bizarre behavior caused by the alien inhabiting his body). But when the killing starts again, both will need to work together - and with a new alien policeman (Raphael Sbarge), who comes to Earth to aid in the struggle - to stop the new generation of aliens.

The film begins with Leatherface bludgeoning a young woman, Gina, to death with a sledgehammer before beginning the process of cutting off her face in order to make it into a mask. Gina's sister, Sara watches from a nearby window. Leatherface hears Sara outside, and after she flees, he briefly checks outside before going back to work. Some time later, Michelle and her boyfriend Ryan, a couple that constantly argues, both traveling through Texas, pass through a security checkpoint near the excavation of a large number of butchered bodies, a cop approaches them and interrogates them, shortly after they leave and reach the Last Chance Gas Station. A fight soon breaks out between Tex and Alfredo when Tex finds the latter spying on Michelle while she uses the station restroom. As Michelle and Ryan flee from the station in their car, they witness Alfredo apparently killing Tex with a shotgun.
