Lautaro Murúa ([lauˈtaɾo muˈɾu.a]; 29 December 1926 Tacna, Chile - 3 December 1995 in Madrid) was a Chilean-born Argentine actor, film director, and screenwriter. He is one of the best known actors in the Cinema of Argentina.
Born in Chile, Murúa moved to Argentina at the beginning of the fifties. He studied architecture and fine arts before entering the film industry. He worked primarily as an actor and appeared in over 80 films between 1949 and his death in 1995 although he also directed a handful of important films such as Shunko, Alias Gardelito and La Raulito, all with stories usually revolving around social topics.
As an actor, Murúa participated in the 1960s film industry revival, acting in the movies of Leopoldo Torre Nilsson, Rodolfo Kuhn, Manuel Antín and David José Kohon.
He left to live in Spain for political reasons in the 1970s, and then he returned to Argentina to film several movies until sickness set in and he died in Spain in 1995.

In Mexico in the 17th century the Viceroy of New Spain and the newly elected Archbishop discuss how they will rule. The Archbishop sends a letter to the convent where Sor Juana lives informing the abbess that his first official order of business will be to visit their convent and to meet Sor Juana. For the occasion Sor Juana presents a play she has been working on. The Viceroy and his wife, the Vicereine are impressed with Sor Juana's writing. The Archbishop on the other hand is disturbed that the convent is so lax. He secretly meets with a few nuns and persuades them to elect a more formal abbess.

Nazareno Cruz is a young farmer living in a rural town. He is known for being the seventh son of his father, and so he is seen by the locals as the victim of the werewolf curse. Despite this he lives happily in the community. When Nazareno is about to turn 18 he meets Griselda and they both fall in love. Soon after, "Mandinga" (the Devil) presents himself to Nazareno and explains that his curse is real. Mandinga makes Nazareno a proposition: if Nazareno gives up his love, he will receive in exchange his freedom and many riches. The film opens on Martín Santomé's (Héctor Alterio) 49th birthday, a widower and the father of three children: the eldest, the embittered Esteban (Luis Brandoni); the caring middle-child Blanca (Marilina Ross) and Jaime (Oscar Martínez), a closeted homosexual.
