Maciej (Marian) Kozłowski est un acteur de théâtre, de cinéma et de télévision polonais, né le 8 septembre 1957 à Kargowa et mort le 11 mai 2010 à Varsovie.

Biography

En 1984, Maciej Kozłowski est diplômé de l'École nationale de cinéma de Łódź. Depuis 1983, il se produit sur scène du Nouveau théâtre de Poznań (Teatr Nowy w Poznaniu), puis en 1997, devient acteur du Théâtre national de Varsovie. il fait ses débuts devant la caméra dans un épisode de la série télévisée Królowa Bona en 1980, mais son rôle le plus connu est celui de Waldemar Jaroszy dans M jak miłość qu'il incarnera de 2002 jusqu'en 2010. Au cinéma, il joue à partir de 1983, entre autres sous la direction de Juliusz Machulski, Władysław Pasikowski, Marek Koterski.

En 2005, Kozlowski découvre qu'il est infecté par le virus de l'hépatite C. Mort d'un cancer du foie dans la nuit du 10 au 11 mai 2010 à l'hôpital de Varsovie, il est enterré au cimetière militaire de Powazki.

Par ailleurs, l'acteur s'impliquait dans la protection des chiens errants et maltraités, avec sa femme Agnieszka Kowalska, qui après sa mort crée une fondation Pan i Pani Pies [Monsieur et Madame Chien].

In Kraków during World War II, the Germans had forced local Polish Jews into the overcrowded Kraków Ghetto. Oskar Schindler, an ethnic German, arrives in the city hoping to make his fortune. Poland in 1990, right after the fall of communism. Former officers of the SB (Poland's communist secret police) are undergoing re-evaluation, in the process of which the country's new democratic leadership is trying to establish whether or not they can be incorporated into the new police service. Franciszek Maurer (Franz) is one of them. He has a notorious service record and is ruthless, but devoted to service - the only thing he cares about, since he became estranged from his wife and son. Eventually he is taken over by the new police force, while one of his best friends, Olgierd Żwirski (Olo), is not. Facing unemployment, Olo joins a newly formed criminal gang, consisting mainly of ex-SB agents, which operates in international narcotics trade. Franz and Olo, who try to co-operate despite the new circumstances, soon face each other as enemies. Moreover, Franz's relationship with Angela Wenz, a young girl he has befriended, becomes more and more complicated as the story continues, especially after Angela meets Olo.
