Get a Horse! follows Mickey, his favorite gal pal Minnie Mouse and their friends Horace Horsecollar and Clarabelle Cow as they delight in a musical wagon ride – until Peg-Leg Pete shows up and tries to run them off the road. Mickey and Horace are forced through the movie screen into the theater, emerging as color, CGI version of themselves. Mickey proceeds to do battle with Pete on both sides of the screen, enlisting the aid of Horace (who had briefly left the theater to get modern concessions and 'borrow' a smartphone). They outwit Pete by flipping the screen on different axes to alternately change the flow of gravity and of time, causing Pete to repeatedly injure himself on the same objects. Finally, the movie screen falls apart, revealing a modern CGI landscape, and the now modernized Disney characters return to the film, fading out in time for Pete to get stuck in the iris.

In this short, Mickey Mouse and his friends Donald Duck and Goofy attempt to build a boat (which they name Queen Minnie), which is made from fold-out parts (the instructions simply say "All You Do Is Put It Together" and "Even A Child Can Do It"), though they encounter problems of their own as they go (e.g. Donald paints the rudder which keeps being turned by Mickey, and Goofy thinks the figurehead is an actual woman). Their maiden voyage turns out to be their last, as the boat collapses as she sets sail, thanks to Minnie Mouse hitting the champagne bottle (to christen the boat) just too hard on the boat.

Meanwhile, Goofy decides to go surfing, but when he rushes toward the wave it seems to have a mind of its own, running backwards as soon as Goofy starts running toward it, causing Goofy to hit his head on a rock. The wave then comes back in and washes Goofy around, eventually leaving his head stuck in the sand. Mickey begins to have some trouble playing his guitar, while Minnie and Donald trade places. However, when Donald takes his turn with the skirt, he dances too close to the fire and accidentally sets the skirt on fire. The film tells the story of three kittens (one black, one orange and one grey) and their adventures in a house. It begins with the kittens left out in the snow. They then notice the house nearby and enter it for shelter. They arrive at its kitchen, and begin to play there after the house's African-American housekeeper (possibly a prototype version of Mammy Two-Shoes) has finished preparing a meal. After more playing in various areas of the house, the film switches its focus to one particular kitten, the black one, who is chasing a feather and eventually ends up on a piano keyboard. The kitten starts to play with the feather walking down the piano keyboard and the feather lands on the 'on' switch with the kitten presses and the then-revealed pianola begins to play; ironically it is playing a variation of "Kitten On The Keys" a song composed by Zez Confrey in 1921. The other two kittens rejoin the first and play around the pianola. When the pianola finishes its song, the kittens leave it and are caught by the housekeeper. As she prepares to throw them out, she is stopped by a little girl, who decides to adopt the kittens.
