Marie Lohr (28 July 1890 — 21 January 1975) was an Australian film and stage actress.
Career
Her first stage appearance was in Sydney, aged 4, in The World Against Her. Her London debut (after the family's move to Britain), aged 11, in Shockheaded Peter and The Man Who Stole the Castle. Her later stage-work included appearances in a 1929 London stage production of Beau Geste alongside Laurence Olivier, later married to Vivien Leigh, and in the original production of the 1930 play The Bread-Winner.
Her first film appearance was in the 1932 film version of Aren't we All?, and — having appeared in several of George Bernard Shaw's works onstage - her subsequent films included two Shaw adaptations. She died at the age of 84, and was buried in the Brompton Cemetery in west London.

Biography
Marie Löhr was born in Sydney, New South Wales, to Lewis J. Löhr, treasurer of the Melbourne opera house, and his wife, the English actress Kate Bishop (1848–1923). Her maternal uncle, Alfred Bishop, along with her godparents, William and Madge Kendal, were also actors.Career

The luxury liner SS Crescent Star sinks in seven minutes after striking a rogue mine in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, taking with her nearly all of the 1156 people on board. Twenty-seven of the survivors converge on a single lifeboat designed to accommodate only nine. The dying captain passes command to executive officer Alec Holmes (Tyrone Power). Holmes then learns from "Sparks" Clary (John Stratton), the ship's radio operator, that both transmitters were destroyed before a call for help could be sent. During a day at an airport in London, many complications arise, involving both passengers and airline crew members. Simon Rawley is reported killed in the last days of World War II, and his blind father Robert (Murray) decides to build a sports pavilion in his memory in the local village. His neighbour Lord Clandon (Seymour Hicks) urges him to dedicate it to all the local men who gave their lives in the war, but Robert refuses. Planning and construction take some time and three years pass, during which Simon's widow Angela (Gray) falls in love with local doctor's son Maxwell Oliver (Derek Farr). Robert cannot help feeling that this is disloyal to his dead son, but his second wife Joan (Campbell) does her best to convince him that Angela is entitled to search for happiness again. The pavilion is finally completed and plans are in place for the grand dedication and opening. The local police are meanwhile looking for a villain who coshed a motorist and stole his car in London, and has dumped the car in the vicinity.

Two 18th century officers, General Burlap (Morley) and Colonel Kelsoe (Aylmer), are desperate to prevent war, so they hatch a plan to capture the Duke of Marlborough and hold him prisoner until the threat of hostilities passes.
