Miles Anderson (born 23 October 1947) is a Zimbabwean stage and television actor, who has appeared in television serials both in the United Kingdom, and North America. He recently appeared as Martin Millar, in the BBC soap opera Doctors.

Born in 1947 in Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, Anderson was educated at Prince Edward school. His father commanded the Rhodesian Army and his mother Daphne, wrote a memoir of her difficult childhood in Rhodesia. He has appeared in the US television series, Criminal Minds, as well as the ongoing show Ultimate Force as Colonel Aiden Dempsey. He had previously played Lt. Col. Dan Fortune in ITV's Soldier Soldier (series 1 and 2 only, 1991–92). He was awarded the 1982 London Critics' Circle Drama Theatre Award for Best Supporting Actor of 1981 for his performances in The Twin Rivals and The Witch of Edmonton. His numerous performances for television include Fall of Eagles, Z-Cars, The Sweeney. Campion, House of Cards, Oliver's Travels and Holby City. Anderson has also appeared in two episodes of Midsomer Murders entitled "Death In Disguise" and "Last Year's Model", and was the voice of Poseidon in the 1997 TV adaptation of The Odyssey. Most recently he was seen as Major Marchbanks in the BBC adaptation of Philip Pullman's The Ruby in the Smoke and he appeared in 2007 in the sixth series of the crime-drama Waking the Dead. In 2008, he made a brief appearance as Edward Tunstall in the BBC's EastEnders. He narrated the Sky1 version of the New Zealand documentary The Lion Man and appeared in an episode of A Touch of Frost. In 2010, Anderson appeared as the titular character in The Madness of George III mounted by director Adrian Noble at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre. He won the San Diego's Critics' Circle award for Best Actor. In 2011, he played Prospero in The Tempest and Salieri in Amadeus, both directed by Noble. In 2013 he again won the San Diego Critic's Circle Award for his Shylock in Adrian Noble's production of Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice. In 2015 he appeared as Renard in the BBC TV series The Musketeers episode 2.5 "The Return".

His film credits include roles in The Thirty Nine Steps (1978), The Shillingbury Blowers (1980), Sky Bandits (1986), Cry Freedom (1987), A Far Off Place (1993), The King Is Alive (2000), The Silent Fall (2007), Ninja (2009), and Vishwaroopam (2013).

He is an associate member of RADA and the father of actor Joe Anderson and Max Anderson the 2006 and 2011 World Streetboard Champion.

The film opens in a rundown pigeon shop in New York City where an old man feeds them. He then sends one pigeon away. It flies high and lands in a skyscraper off the office window of a psychologist who is conducting a session with her client Nirupama (Pooja Kumar), a nuclear oncologist, who begins to confide that hers was a marriage of convenience that provided a safe haven for pursuing her PhD in the U.S.A. for past three years and that her husband Vishwanath alias Viz (Kamal Haasan) is a middle-aged Kathak teacher. She is also put off by Viz's effeminate bearing and is attracted to her boss, Deepankar (Samrat Chakrabarti). Doubting whether her husband has secrets of his own, she hires a private investigator to tail him to probe grounds for divorce. She learns from the private investigator that Viz is a Muslim. In a sudden turn of events, the investigator is killed in a sea-side warehouse by Farukh, a prominent member of the terrorist outfit led by Omar (Rahul Bose). A diary on him gives away Nirupama and the terror group led by Farukh nabs the couple. Deepankar is later killed by Farukh's men.

Casey Bowman is an American orphan who was adopted into a martial arts dojo in Japan. A group of tourists are stranded in the Namibian desert when their bus loses its way and runs out of fuel. Odysseus (Armand Assante), the king of the ancient Greek kingdom of Ithaca, is called to service in the Trojan War after the birth of his son Telemachus, much to the dismay of his wife Queen Penelope (Greta Scacchi). Odysseus is worried that he may not return, and tells Penelope that she should remarry by the time Telemachus is a man if he does not return. The war lasts ten years, during which Greece's best soldier, Achilles (Richard Trewett), is killed and the Greeks avenge him by using a giant horse to sneak inside and destroy the city of Troy. Laocoön (Heathcote Williams) tries to warn the Trojans of a vision of this, but is suddenly devoured by a sea monster. On the way back, Odysseus' ego gets the best of him and he tells the gods that he did it himself, which angers Poseidon (voiced by Miles Anderson) so much that he promises to make Odysseus' journey home to Penelope nearly impossible, mentioning that it was he who sent the sea monster to devour Laocoön.

Following a news story depicting the demolition of a slum in East London, South Africa, journalist Donald Woods (Kevin Kline) seeks more information about the incident and ventures off to meet black activist Steve Biko (Denzel Washington). Biko has been officially banned by the South African government and is not permitted to leave his defined banning area at King William's Town. Woods is formally against Biko's banning, but remains critical of his political views. Biko invites Woods to visit a black township to see the impoverished conditions and to witness the effect of the government-imposed restrictions, which make up the apartheid system. Woods begins to agree with Biko's desire for a South Africa where blacks have the same opportunities and freedoms as those enjoyed by the white population. As Woods comes to understand Biko's point of view, a friendship slowly develops between them.
