Olga Konstantinovna Chekhova, born Knipper (Russian: Ольга Константиновна Чехова (14 April 1897, Aleksandropol, Russian Empire (now Gyumri, Armenia) – 9 March 1980, Munich, West Germany) was a Russian-German actress. Her film roles include the female lead in Alfred Hitchcock's Mary (1931).
Two years after the 1917 October Revolution, Chekhova divorced her husband but kept his name. She managed to get a travel passport from the Soviet government, possibly in exchange for cooperation, which led to permission to leave Russia. She was accompanied by a Soviet agent on a train to Vienna, then she moved to Berlin in 1920. Her first cinema role was in Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau silent movie Schloß Vogelöd (1921). She played in Max Reinhardt's productions at UFA, the same studios where Fritz Lang directed Metropolis (1927). She made the successful transition from silent film to talkies. In the 1930s, she rose to become one of the brightest stars of the Third Reich and was admired by Adolf Hitler. She appeared in such films as Der Choral von Leuthen although she preferred comedies.

Biography
Born Olga Knipper, she was the daughter of Konstantin Knipper, a railway engineer and the niece and namesake of Olga Knipper (Anton Chekhov's wife), both Lutherans of ethnic German ancestry. She went to school in Tsarskoye Selo but, after watching Eleonora Duse, joined the Moscow Art Theatre's studio. There she met the great actor Mikhail Chekhov (Anton's nephew) in 1915 and married him the same year, taking his surname as her own. The film begins shortly after the outbreak of World War II when Günther Prien reports to the Befehlshaber der U-Boote (BdU—supreme commander of the U-boat Arm) Karl Dönitz. Peu de temps après 1933: L'espion polonais Igor Wronski doit quitter le service après un duel et des traites non tenues. Grâce aux relations de sa sœur Jadwiga, Wronski entre en contact avec le colonel Maty à Varsovie. Il postule auprès de Berlin et est engagé. À Berlin, Wronski, par son charme avec les femmes, parvient aux plus hautes sphères du ministère de la Défense. La jeune Liane est secrétaire au ministère de la Guerre et la maîtresse de Wronski. Elle lui donne de nombreux courriers internes. Cependant la personne la plus importante est Leonore von Cronberg, nièce du colonel Ranke et secrétaire du chef du département de la planification des chars. Elle se rend vite compte que Wronski est un espion, mais se tourne vers son côté. Elle lui procure des documents secrets qu'il donne à Jadwiga. Les Polonais qui négocient un pacte de non-agression ont une image précise des plans de défense des Allemands. Ils se croient en sécurité et signent le pacte. Maty est informé que les Polonais connaissaient bien sûr les plans des Allemands, parce qu'ils ont reçu des informations d'un certain nombre de femmes au sein du ministère. Maty avait récemment annoncé à Wronski que tout dénonciateur serait liquidé.

L'Électeur de Brandebourg Frédéric III veut que sa résidence à Berlin soit un monument remarquable parmi les plus grands. Au tribunal, Ina finit par révéler la vérité : en repoussant les avances du baron, elle l'a involontairement blessé avec un poignard dont la lame était empoisonnée. La fille et la mère, innocentées, retrouvent le banquier Sparrenberg, père et mari bienveillant.
