Peter Henry Fonda (born February 23, 1940) is an American actor. He is the son of Henry Fonda, brother of Jane Fonda, and father of Bridget and Justin Fonda (by first wife Susan Brewer, stepdaughter of Noah Dietrich). Fonda is an icon of the counterculture of the 1960s.

In 2011, Fonda and Tim Robbins produced The Big Fix, a documentary that examined the role of BP in the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and its effects on the Gulf of Mexico. At a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival, Fonda stated that he had written to President Barack Obama about the spill and attacked him as a "fucking traitor" for allowing "foreign boots on our soil telling our military—in this case the Coast Guard—what they can and could not do, and telling us, the citizens of the United States, what we could or could not do.’"

On January 12, 2011, Fonda found the body of a man sitting in a car parked on the side of Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. He called 911. Emergency personnel estimated the man had committed suicide about three days earlier in the car.

L'Ultime Sacrifice raconte l'histoire vraie du héros de guerre William H. Pitsenbarger (Jeremy Irvine), surnommé PJ, un sauveteur en hélicoptère de l'armée américaine qui a sauvé plus de soixante hommes à lui seul. Lors d'une mission, le 11 avril 1966, on lui propose de s'échapper avec le dernier hélicoptère quittant la zone de combat en plein tir, mais il choisit de rester et de sauver les vies de ses camarades de la première infanterie, avant de faire l'ultime sacrifice lors d'une des plus sanglantes batailles de la guerre. Trente-deux ans plus tard, un employé respecté du Pentagone, Scott Huffman (Sebastian Stan) est missionné pour étudier la demande faite par le meilleur ami de PJ (William Hurt), et ses parents (Christopher Plummer & Diane Ladd), d'attribuer à PJ la médaille d'honneur du Congrès, à titre posthume. Huffman cherche donc les témoignages de vétérans qui ont assisté au sauvetage entrepris par Pitsenbarger, comprenant ceux de Takoda (Samuel L. Jackson), Burr (Peter Fonda) et Mott (Ed Harris). Pourtant, alors qu'Huffman en apprend plus sur les actes héroïques de PJ, il se rend compte que des personnes haut placées essaient de cacher ce qu'il s'est réellement passé et ont refusé la demande de médaille depuis des années. Lucy (Sarah Bolger) is a self-confessed tomboy who gets on well with her father Chuck (James Marsden), but is frequently separated from him for months on end when he works in Canada. Her relationship with her mother Lainee (Claire Danes) is easy-going provided she keeps the house tidy. Lucy is even allowed to drive her mother's car, even though she is too young to apply for a license. When her father comes back, which is only 3 times a year, Lucy says that she skips a whole week of school and that Lainee lies to Chuck about not having a job and stays home. Heiress Martha Dennison (Victoria Pratt) seeks out professor Jonathan Brock (Rick Schroder) to help find her husband, Edward, who disappeared four years earlier on an expedition towards the center of the Earth. At first Jonathan is hesitant to go despite Martha's offer to handsomely pay him, giving him the opportunity to pay off the debts left to him by his recently deceased father, while his nephew and aspiring journalist Abel is excited for the opportunity to get real life journalistic experience. After reviewing Edward's notes Jonathan is persuaded to go along. The two of them, along with Abel, go to the newly acquired Alaskan territory to gather information about Edward and his expedition and find a Russian guide, Sergei, to aide their search of her husband. They struggle to cover a large amount of ground in only 10 days based upon information recovered from a crudely drawn map. They find and enter a mine shaft in a volcano, venturing deep into the center of the earth. Along the way small signs are found of the previous expedition along with the skeleton of Mikael, a friend like a brother to Sergei, and see it as an ominous sign of what's ahead. Abel constantly lags behind taking notes and pictures of the journey and discovers a passage to a strange new land.
